Blocked drain, lots of water flowing down the road after rain., 15th April

Mon, 15 Apr 2024 16:10:31 +0100
52.818535 1.289404

Blocked drain - again. Once again this drain has become completely blocked. It's the only drain along this section of road so everything washes down from beyond the pub, past the green then onwards to the corner at the bottom of the road often leaving a lot of stone across the road on the bend. It should collect in the pond on the opposite side of the road to the drain. Unfortunately the pond is not looked after and the outlet becomes clogged, the water doesn't flow so all the debris just chokes the drain and the pipe beneath the road. After prompting it sometimes is cleared - but only the drain, not the pipe. On these occasions it blocks rapidly so all the effort is a bit of a waste of time. However, last time it was cleared, a good job was done with the clearing of the exit point into the pond (so called) with the result that it took much longer to clog up again. The time has come to repeat the job. Clear the drain all the way to the pond and try to clear some of the pond to allow the water to flow into it.

Deep and dangerous pothole., 31st March

Sun, 31 Mar 2024 10:59:45 +0100
52.817932 1.284286

This pothole was reported a few weeks ago. It is approx 4 inches deep and becoming longer than ever. It is about 10 inches wide and over 3 feet long. It is located at a point in the road just where cars need to position in order to keep their view as far as possible along the road. Damaging for cars that run through it and very dangerous for anyone on two wheels.

There is over 4 inches of old soil in the middle of the road never been swept it’s a nightmare to walk it on foot let alone in a car as it nearly catches the bottom of your vehicle, it runs all the way from NR11 6PF , all the way down and past the church really needs sorting as water isn’t draining off the road and it’s getting incredibly difficult to walk as a pedestrian because of all the soil and flints and stones it’s like walking on ball bearings second time I’ve reported this

This hole has been developing over a long period of time (years) and has been reported previously. It started as a deep hole with an entrance the size of a rat hole and has gradually increased to something much larger. The hole is several feet deep and the road is now collapsing into it. Last week there was an accident involving a cyclist which required an ambulance and police. Someone has marked it with a cone. One week later it is still there and has not been attended to.

Blocked drain - again., 3rd November

Thu, 03 Nov 2022 09:09:59 +0000
52.818733 1.289409

This drain takes water from all the way up past the pub and green and directs it into the pond on the other side of the road. When it becomes blocked all that water is then sent further down the road causing further problems with wash off and the sheer quantity of water. This is a repeating problem as the pond has not been kept clear and the outlet in the pond is blocked.
