An elderly resident who lives at this location has contacted the Parish Council regarding two trees on the corner. The trees have grown to such a size that the branches outstretch into the road and are often hit by high sided vehicles and buses. The tree is also self seeding, which is problematic for the resident, and she has concerns over damage it may cause to her property. This has been looked at historically, but the resident has asked if can be reviewed again due to its rate of growth.

Broken drain / pothole, 15th February
Travelling from Holcot over the causeway. On left hand side a drain is breaking up / sunken causing a large pothole and traffic swerving to avoid it.

Damaged Signs & Posts, 30th January
Following a recent road traffic accident at this junction the directional signs have been damaged and are lying on the grass verge. Additionally this junction requires a STOP sign rather than a GIVE WAY sign to prevent further RTAs.

Breech of High Code Rule 234, 27th January
I keep reportingb tis but I'm being Ignored. If this continues, I wil raise the the Council formally as a complaint. The Water vehicle that is filling up here regular is parking against the highway code. Surely there must be a better palace to fill up than right opposite TWO junctions (See Highway code rule 234 on 10 meters from Junction). This is extremely dangerous and difficult to maneuverer around each time. They could easily fill up 50 meters to the West away from any junctions. Ignoring this report will mean that any claim for an accident will have increased liability for being ignored (twice reported)

Cars parking on grass verge, 26th January
Cars are parking on the grass verge leading down to the causeway over the Pitsford Reservoir. This is a particular problem at weekends. Sometimes they are partially in the road which is a hazard. I have reported this previously and cones were erected but these have all now been damaged/removed. Ideally a more permanent solution would be posts.

The wall lining the footpath has completely collapsed and the path is not passable. There are barriers up, but no sign of remedial works underway. Several residents have logged their concerns with the Parish Council.

Your response is understood, but this is clearly in violation of the Highway code rule 243: opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space. They park immediately opposite the junction. This is a danger to traffic as it is close to TWO junctions and visibility is hindered greatly. There must be a better place to do this further along west by about 50 meters, away from both junctions at least.

Pot holes/damaged tarmac, 8th December
The High Street has various pot holes. Starting from the area just before the sharp left hand bend down towards the green, level with where the pavement raises on the left. A drain near The Hollies’s is also partially exposed. The pot holes on the bend are dangerous to vehicles if they were to hit one awkwardly and the ones near where the pavement narrows on the right could also be a risk.

Road markings to be repainted, 6th December
The "SLOW" road markings near the green and further along the High Street just before the sharp left hand bend are faded and need repainting. Speeding and bad driving (mounting pavement) is fife in Scaldwell and this may help to improve road safety in the village

Faded road markings on critical junction, 21st November
The road markings on this junction have faded. This is a critical junction. I drove past two cars that had had a bump at that junction yesterday. New Road markings are needed to prevent a future collision.
