Bridleway closed, 3rd April

Wed, 03 Apr 2024 19:27:41 +0100
52.288557 -0.974426

When is this bridleway going to be fixed and re-opened? It’s been over six months now since it was blocked off which means now having to ride along the dangerous main road where the Lorrie’s and cars fly past you with no consideration for my horse. Makes me feel sick having to ride down there risking our lives each time. I think over six months is totally unacceptable to close off a route used by many horse riders and cyclists.

Large dip in the road, opposite the gate., 3rd April

Wed, 03 Apr 2024 18:25:41 +0100
52.301132 -0.965283

The road here dips massively. This causes regular users of the road, moving along the road towards Holdenby to pull out onto the right hand side of the carriageway, with limited visibility of oncoming traffic, to avoid it. If they can’t move across, or they are unaware of the dip, their vehicles bounce up and then smash back into the road when they travel across the dip. Very dangerous.

Three drains and are blocked by silt., 27th March

Wed, 27 Mar 2024 09:24:27 +0000
52.285336 -0.947317

The three drains are on the north side of Harlestone Road between the crossoads and the church. All are choked up with fine siltand unable to accept surface water which streams downhill in a torrent until the one point of a plateau by the church gate forming a pool before continuing west into the valley. The weatrher forecast for the next ten days means the heavy rain expected will exacerbate the problem. The footpaths are now swept and the hedging has been cut back so a less likely issue.
