I'm alarmed to see ruts already forming around this roundabout where the inner and outer tarmac carpets meet. It could already affect motorcycles. It was a new surface in the last year or so. Is this a specification or contractor quality control failure? It's alarming as there are lots of roundabouts nowadays and a nice new surface has just been completed on the South Way / Admirals Way roundabout which should surely last more than a couple of years. Otherwise we are funding a losing battle!

A45 Stefen Way, Daventry eastbound 3 dips in road surface, 4th May
Nice try - you have closed the last report of these as fixed when it is the horizontal crack west of the three dips that were dealt with last week. Previous reports: 5692460.A45 Stefan Way: X3 large dips in road heading eastwards Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 15:48, Sunday 10 March 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5692460. X3 large dips in the road whilst heading eastwards. This has been getting worse with time, and previously reported by someone else in 2019. Obviously now the road condition has worsened. There is now evidence of people hitting this at speed as there are now tyre marks on each bump. It is only a matter of time before someone hits this at speed and loses control or worse. This requires fixing due to the speed on this road.

My update added 27/3/24 These have been reported since at least 2018 (inc 3269345, 3121792. and 952624), They seem to have stopped increasing in depth recently but are a constant irritant to regular travellers causing vehicles to swerve onto wrong side of carriageway. Visitors won't know about them and at least a temporary bumpy road sign would help them. It is also taking rubber of HGV tyres with lifted axles and I wouldn't want to be in an emergency ambulance on that road!

Slippery Pavement in Market Square, 3rd May
The pavement directly in front of Smokey Joes all the way down to Howkins and Harrisons on Market Square is very slippery in the wet. A client of mine has taken a nasty fall at 12.20pm today. Apparently someone has been out but when conditions were dry - when the pavement is wet like today it is very slippery

Pavements are incredibly slippy, 3rd May
Someone has been into our office this morning to say 3 people have slipped on the footpath one lad fell over. The pavements are lethal in wet conditions. Someone was sent out before on a dry day and reported no issues ! The footpath runs from Smoky Joes at the top to Howkins and Harrison at the bottom. We ourselves have witnessed 2 people crash to the ground in the last few weeks.

Series of large/deep potholes, 3rd May
Series of large/deep potholes between the old railway bridge and the bridleway to Dodford. One pothole is covering a third of the carriage way making it very difficult to pass safely. Some potholes already logged on your system are down as P4 (26 weeks), which must be an error given the severity of the pothole.

A car is leaking oil and has been for a while Highways attended last week "and did a good job of putting sand down on the major oil spill" The car is still leaking oil and owner does not seem interested in attending to this This is not a major a=incident atm but oil is going down the drain and there is still oil leaking from the car onto the road

Large numbers of deep potholes, 1st May
Considering the number, weight and types of vehicles using this bus route, the potholes are becoming increasingly dangerous as vehicles swerve to avoid them, putting oncoming vehicles at risk. Cyclists are also at risk as they don’t realise how deep they are, particularly when filled with rain. This hole had been getting worse over the last six months - please help.

The pot holes and rutting are deteriorating rapidly. It is not safe to turn right out of Millennium Way as you cannot gain traction on the road. When you are able to pull out you are then faced with more rutting and holes making it impossible to accelerate
