Fly tipping, 5th February
There was a fly tipping incident at the said location some 12 months ago. A cannabis farm and all the usual paraphernalia was dumped in a wood within 20 feet of the road and a public footpath. The wood is owned by Needless Farm, Morpeth. They have been made aware of the rubbish in his wood and have done nothing about it. The most worrying fact is that this rubbish has been reported as TOXIC by NCC who have actually told other people reporting the rubbish that it is toxic- keep well clear Us country dwellers get very little for council tax - but do we then have to live alongside toxic materials while the NCC and landowner sit on their hands - it’s a disgrace !

Excess water from main road floods our garden and driveway,, 31st October
Repeatedly over the years water flowing like a river along the road outside our house uses our courtyard as a run off and floods garages causing damage to floors and contents often a skip load have been destroyed, and garden to an unacceptable depth. we have installed extra drains (on top of the many we have) around the premises, across the garden, had to drill holes in the manhole covers and raised our drive entry, to no avail. This needs rectifying as it has caused damage to the house and garage stone walls with mould and mosses. This road is your responsibility and we would like it rectified asap. The excessive flooding further down the hill made accessibility to our house impossible, road closed in 2 directions we nearly had tostay in a hotel..

Flooding outside our front gate, 24th June
We have just moved in to our address and have had to deal with rising and residual damp on the side of our house wall which is barely three feet from the road. After heavy rain this week we have discovered the road floods badly right next to our property. As a result, vehicles driving through the flood absolutely soak the side of the house covering the windows and stonework with muddy water. The deep puddle shown in the photos doesn’t allow us to enter or exit our garden either. The most worrying fact is on 20/06/23 when the photos were taken, the water eventually drained away after a few hours, but must have drained away into our garden somehow - which begs the question is it just soaking under our house thus causing the damp to our property. There is a drain(culvert) on the opposite side of the road which drains away under the road and into our garden - but the water shown in the photos doesn’t drain into this as there is a clear camber in the road, pushing the water towards our property I have taken advice from a chartered surveyor who states this rain water will cause damage to our property if left unchecked Can we meet someone at our house to discuss this problem please as it’s becoming a concern to us We are at Shelley Farm, Netherwitton, NE614LP

Road surface breaking up badly, 30th October
I ride a motorbike and have reported problems with this stretch of road (between this corner and the next) many time during the last year with no real sign of improvement. This is not just a pothole problem. The surface is so bad on the actual bends that it is a real risk to anyone on two wheels. The only way that I can negotiate this corner safely is to carefully use the wrong side of the road. The risk of a serious accident is high.
