Dumping of illegal waste ready to burn, 1st October
Waste such as mattresses, chairs, wood, aerosols and plastic are being dumped in to a pile ready to burn. This has happened a few times now. The waste being dumped is harmful to the environment and is next door to a farm where cattle are in the field when the waste is being burnt. The land is privately owned, and the people responsible are doing this with the knowledge of said landowner. This is a nature reserve and home to many animals such as newts, frogs, rabbits, red squirrel, moles, and deer. This requires attention now as there are several breaches of law being broken in accordance with the Environmental protection Act 1990 s.89(1) and (2). The landowner has little regard for the environment and nor does the people he employs to dump the waste. There is a plie ready to burn as I type this.

Deep gravel left on road after resurfacing., 8th July
There are a lot of road resurfacing projects currently taking place in Northumberland. The problem is these roads are being surfaced with a thick coating of gravel chippings. This is extremely hazardous for anyone on 2 wheels a Motorcycle or pedal cycle. It is liking riding on marbles and very slippy. How can a risk accessment allow this? Putting 20mph speed limit signs up does not make a road covered in loose gravel safe. I would love to know how many accidents have been caused by this dangerous practice. Please stop leaving all this loose gravel on roads before someone is seriously hurt or killed because of this.
