Road repair sinking after recent contractor works, 23rd April

Tue, 23 Apr 2024 12:18:44 +0100
55.92085 -3.914348

I thought it would be prudent to bring to your attention a flaw in some recent works. There was fairly new gates leading into the field here with some structures and also a caravan. An unknown contractor recently open the road and tied into some kind of service water/power/storm drains or similar. This was in the past few weeks. Due to poor/ sub standard compacting techniques the tarmac repair is now sinking rapidly, and will soon constitute a major hazard.

Road sinking at sides, 2nd January

Tue, 02 Jan 2024 14:22:56 +0000
55.920468 -3.914262

For a number of months now the road has been sinking at the sides just where Shielhill Burn goes under the road. It is more noticeable on one side than the other, they previously put some tar down which has since sunk like the rest of the road. If this continues unchecked I fear in the long run major works will be required.

Gully very slow to empty., 10th December

Sun, 10 Dec 2023 18:10:57 +0000
55.916749 -3.911791

There is a gully which is very slow to empty and always appears full when raining. The gully is just past no.12 The Crescent on the main road as you go down the hill. This mjay be connected to a larger problem as the gullys here seem to flood regularly as has been noted by other people from reading reports on here. It would seem prudent to investigate before the problem escalates and the residents of The Crescent have their homes flooded again.

Road resurface work has left excess tar in gullys/inspection gully at flood zone, 22nd July

Sat, 22 Jul 2023 20:40:04 +0100
55.916666 -3.914403

The road at Avonhead Road was resurfaced in the last 2 weeks, At the known flood point at the start of Avonhead Road there are 4 gullys and one cover allowing inspection of some pipes including a 9" pipe which regularly floods. Tar has been left in at least one of the gullys but crucially also in the inspection cover and this has blocked half of the 9" pipe. Would suggest prompt remediation to mitigate flood risk.
