FIXMYSTREET IN ML11 0FG
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of ML11 0FG:
Lamp standard at rear of Lesmahagow Old Parish Church in Lesmahagow has been vandalised and wiring exposed and requires urgent attention. This light illuminates the back of the church and has been adopted by yourselves for several years., 3rd December
This was reported to your department some time ago and I was informed that a a job number has been raised and remedial works arranged to be carried out. I am very concerned that nothing has been done about making this electrical unit safe. This area is used by the general public, and is a potential danger due to the exposed wiring.

Dangerous large pothole, 8th January
Pothole is located on the inside lane of the southbound M74 prior to marker 36.2. It is located close to the white line demarking the hard shoulder. It is trianular in shape wuth a deep straight forward edge tapering to the back. We hit it at about 0620 on the 3rd of January, the day of the 92 mph gusts. We hit it at about 70 miles an hour. We managed to pull over to the hard shoulder. However the dreadfully strong winds prevented us from evacuating the children from the car. A police patrol spotted and marked us and the AA took us off the road. The cost of the puncture was £150 plus an extra day of holiday to deal with it before driving South to Sussex where we live.

Damaged and Dangerous Bridge, 14th January
Despite this problem being reported several times (lastly in August 2009), recurring potholes and now untreated roads with layers of thick ice have resulted in serious damage on this bridge.SLC was warned about the integrity of the bridge because of lack of maintenance on this road. Wall of bridge has now cracked all the way up in the middle. Immediate attention is required.

No access for cars, 3rd January
Road has not been gritted since Friday December 18th. South Lanarkshire Council 24 hour Emergency Service refuse to take requests or complaints.Car users cannot get access to their homes and the whole stretch of road from New Trows Road to Waterside is only passable if you have a tractor or 4X4.Most residents in this area do not have access to a tractor or a 4X4!
In the last eight school days the school bus only managed to pick up pupils from Lesmahagow High on only two occasions.
The total lack of gritting and support from SLC means that pupils will miss more school, and residents in this area will be unable to get to work this week.

Parking on double yellow lines, 18th November
We are constantly having problems with lazy, selfish people parking on double yellow lines outside the Co-Op and Chip Shop, blocking the corners of the road who cant walk the length of themselves when there is a perfectly good car park at the back of the Co-Op. There has already been two accidents at this spot and its only getting worse not better.
