FIXMYSTREET IN LU1 4LP
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of LU1 4LP:
129 Dunstable road, Caddington, LU1 4AN, 16th May
I reported a problem on this site last week, council ref: 406375. I have received 2 conflicting updates for this problem and the case is now closed on this website so I am opening a new one as I am not clear what is happening. It seems it has been inspected twice with 2 different outcomes. Can somebody please explain what is happening as it seems whoever is managing this is somewhat confused as am I. See the 2 responses below: Thank you for your Highways report. We have now inspected the defect and at present we will continue to monitor as this defect doesnt meet intervention levels at this stage. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor and inspect the road in line with our established service plan.

The whole length of this road from Aley Green to the Caddington Social Club., 14th May
This stretch of road has been in an appalling state for years now. There have been various "patches" in the past and none have worked for any length of time. The state of this stretch of road is absolutely scandalous.

Half moon lane - north side pavement, 14th May
You have trimmed the verge of HML today. Well done. Unfortunately nobody taller than an Oompalumpa can walk down the footpath without getting smacked in the face. Humanoid have to walk in the road. Please cut to head height...

Traffic lights onto London Road from Cutenhoe/Stockwood sequencing delay, 7th May
Traffic lights onto London Road from Cutenhoe/Stockwood seem to have a longer than usual sequencing delay. I am often sat at the top of Cutenhoe Road at these lights for 3+ minutes waiting for them to change even when there is barely any traffic using London Road. There used to be a sensor driven right filter at peak times when travelling down London Road and turning onto Cutenhoe which never seems to be in use anymore either.

129 Dunstable road, paddington, LU14AN, 7th May
I have contacted the council about this several times by telephone and letter but it has not been resolved. As you can see from the pictures it is a bit of a mess and my car had to have the exhaust repaired as it was damaged as I drove over one of the holes. I am an 84 year old woman on my own and find this very challenging. Please help.

Mud and stones from building works, 27th April
There are building works along this road. There does not appear to be any wheel-washing facility in the sites, which are on both sides of this location, as well as on the turning onto Church Road. Significant mud and debris are frequently left on the surface of the road. I have noted very slippery surfaces (even at <40MPH) as well as chips to paintwork by cars kicking up stones. The verge is also being quickly eroded by the larger trucks, exacerbating the issue further.
