Ambulance and Police Vehicles Unable To Exit Plympton St Due To Illegally Parked Vehicle., 20th April
At 3pm on Saturday 20th April a Grey RENAULT KANGOO registration number SB70 ERJ blocked ambulance and police vehicle escort with registrations BX23 AHF and LM23 PJO from exiting Plympton Street onto Broadley Street. This ambulance was called as an emergency. We require Westminster Council to ensure this does not happen again by making the double yellow line markings on each side of the entrance to Plympton Street red in colour (to mark no stopping/parking or loading/unloading at any time), therefore towable at all times. We are noting this incident with our solicitor and should double red lines not be applied to the road and this happen again, whereby the blocked access causes incident including, but not limited to, loss of life, loss of property due to unattended building fire by fire brigade, or any other issue relating to emergency services being impeded from performing their duty, we will hold Westminster Council liable. We are monitoring the situation and request an update as to the progress of the double red lines being painted on the road for our records.

Hire bicycles and Hire E-scooters (both Lime-branded and other brands) encroaching onto Residents Parking Bays., 20th April
(Scroll to the end for a summary)
Detail:
Since the removal of two car lengths-worth of resident parking bay on St Johns Wood Terrace (at the corner with Ordnance Hill) there has been a clear over-supply of hire E-bikes and hire E-scooters in the vicinity, with an inadequate number of other nearby spaces to leave them in.
E-bikes may be placed anywhere and don't necessarily have to be in the required bays, whereas E-scooters must be in the bays. Although this doesn't stop the less considerate e-bike users from parking them in an awkward manner (e.g. across the pavement instead of along it in fact I've personally witnessed Lime/Uber staff doing this when they put them out, in an attempt to encourage their use by obstructing the public footpath).
This is a clear display of Lime/Uber's incompetence and inability to properly determine the number of vehicles required in this area, and so users have just dumped them. It is also evidence the organisation's neglect to ensuring their customers act appropriately when operating these vehicles.
My strong suggestion is that the local council begin issuing fines to Uber on a "performance point event" basis (something other authorities do in other matters) for occurrences such as this, and to review the contract currently in existence with this private for-profit business.
Residents ought not to have their communal funds allocated to organisations who show a blatant disregard for the safety of the community, particularly children (have you ever tried lifting a Lime e-bike? It's surprisingly heavy, think for a minute the effect a falling e-bike could have on a passing child).
In summary:
1. Remove the vehicles so that resident permit spaces are free to use again.
2. Begin exploring the possibility of issuing fines to Uber/Lime for contraventions such as these in the future, so that they are more adequately parked.
Ideally, Westminster and other councils will "wake up" to the fact that these vehicles are far more hassle and grief than they're worth and do away with them altogether.
