Another hedge taking up most of the pavement, 15th May

Wed, 15 May 2024 13:52:53 +0100
51.593055 -0.169208

Is there any chance you could ask number 49 Leopold road to cut their hedge back to the boundary of their property please? As you can see, it overhangs about a third of the pavement width and is difficult to get a buggy around, or even walk two abreast.

Hedge taking up 1/3 of the pavement space, 15th May

Wed, 15 May 2024 13:51:33 +0100
51.592632 -0.170018

Is there any chance you could ask number 57 Leopold road to cut their hedge back to the boundary of their property please? As you can see, it overhangs about a third of the pavement width and is difficult to get a buggy around, or even walk two abreast. And with the new trees Barnet has planted it's made it even more difficult to get past. It would be good if the pavement could be for pedestrians. Thanks.

Constant flytipping and Rat infestation, 11th May

Sat, 11 May 2024 13:48:57 +0100
51.580365 -0.198197

I have been diligently addressing the issue of illegal dumping, which occurs on a monthly basis at least four times. This is now the final straw. On Wednesday, my neighbor sent me a message with a photo showing a mattress, chairs, and other items left half in the alleyway and half on the road. It appears that people are assuming I dumped these items there, which is definitely not the case. I am frustrated by the continual use of this area as a dumping ground, and I am aware that the waste is originating from properties in Clifton Gardens. The exact location of the fly tipping is the alleyway between Barnards optician and 56 Clifton Gardens. The issue has persisted for more than five years. Despite lodging complaints with the council on two separate occasions, I have yet to receive any acknowledgment. I am currently working to secure this area and strategising the most effective way to do so. However, I am displeased with the prospect of having to spend money to dispose of other people's waste. This is not my responsibility, but rather the responsibility of the Barnet Council. I have observed rats in the garden behind my house, and have spoken with neighbors who are also experiencing issues with these pests. I have consistently maintained the cleanliness and accessibility of the alleyway to prevent it from becoming a breeding ground for rats. The presence of rubbish, mattresses, and other items in this area is likely to attract and harbour rats. This of course will be detrimental and expensive to me and to the surrounding houses.

Urgent Action Needed: Excessive Car Idling Endangering Health, 10th May

Fri, 10 May 2024 10:44:41 +0100
51.593973 -0.18844

Dear Barnet Council I am writing to urgently draw your attention to a concerning issue that is affecting the health and well-being of our community in Basing Way. The persistent habit of my neighbour, from Flat 52, in idling his car a Black Audi - NMG - 33S, for extended periods is not only a nuisance but also poses significant health risks due to emissions. For some time now, my neighbour has been routinely leaving their vehicle idling for approximately 20 minutes each day. This practise not only contributes to noise pollution but also releases harmful emissions into the air, thereby jeopardising the health of everyone in the vicinity. As you are well aware, prolonged exposure to such pollutants can lead to respiratory problems and exacerbate existing health conditions, especially for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory ailments. I am deeply concerned about the impact this continuous idling is having on our health and well-being. It is imperative that immediate action is taken to address this issue and mitigate its adverse effects. I kindly request that the council intervene and take appropriate measures to kerb this behaviour. I urge you to prioritise this matter. Your prompt attention to this issue is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to hearing about the steps the council will take to address it. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Potholes still to fix in Fairlawn Avenue after thermal resurface work. About 90% of the potholes have been addressed, but the southern ends of the resurfacing in the attached photo needs to be taken further south to cover the depressed road surface.
