Two drain blocked with leaves, 8th January
Today the vehicle that collects leaves from roadside visited Ayston and did the rounds. Unfortunately because of the high volume of leaves that have fallen in recent weeks the drains are completely blocked, and require flushing and removal of leaves, silt and soil if they are to become effective. These blocked drains also contribute to flooding on Main St,. Ayston on the opposite side of the road adjacent to our property. I have repeatedly reported on this flooding over the past few weeks and months. The solution is to add additional drains on the western side of Main Street and clear and clean existing drains through out the village to increase water flow through the drains, and to reduce flooding on the street.
