Large deep pothole on the left of the road heading for the Sedbergh Road Junction, 5th April
This pothole has been here for several weeks when a number of others have been repaired along Hayclose Lane from the Station Inn to South of this particular pothole. When driving particularly should any vehicle approach from the opposite direction avoiding it can only be stopping ones car which is almost impossibly if there is following traffic. Should a cyclist hit it the result would be fairly major with damage or even injury due to its depth.

Blocked bus stops, 28th February
The bus stops on Kendal Parks Road are being blocked by multiple vehicles parking inconsiderately in a daily basis, contravening the Highway Code in distances from junctions and the direction in which the parked vehicles should face in relation to the carriageway.
This is making it extremely difficult for members of the public to safely cross the road when accessing public transport and also for local buses to safely pass by properties and cars

Inconsiderate parking, 28th February
Inconsiderate parking directly opposite driveway is making it increasingly difficult for residents to safely access and exit their driveways. There are an increasing number of vehicles left here for multiple days meaning residents find it dangerous to safely reverse into their driveways and also exit them.

18 ins by 10 ins deep. Half way down Stonecross Road Kendal., 5th February
Due to vans parking it’s impossible to avoid. Also it seems most driving schools seem to use the road as a training ground adding to the problem of avoiding it. Heavily used road which used to be private .

This hole is in the middle of the road . There are usually vehicles parked on both sides of the road , leaving no option but to drive through the hole . On road parking causing problems for residents and pedestrians, 21st November
This is an ongoing problem, people parking down our small residential road, mainly to access the local college. It makes it extremely difficult for us and others to pull into and out of our drives, we have been blocked in in the past unable to reverse out. The road is also access to local schools making it difficult push prams up etc. My mother-in-law lives with us and is an elderly vulnerable lady who at any moment may need emergency care and the parking makes it difficult for hospital transportation or emergency services to access our house.

Dangerous for pedestrians, 20th August
Valley Drive, Kendal, where the tarmaced and will used footpath crosses.l, near to the junction with Linnet Grove. This is now a regular occurance, most evenings and every weekend. The footpath leads from a children's playground on the corner of Kendal Parks Road, down to Valley Drive. Across the road a further path leads to the children's football area and a bit further to another playground and to the community Beck Centre. It is very well used especially with children and dog walkers. The parking here, especially the large vans, makes visibility for both pedestrians and motorists really dangerous. Anyone with dogs or with a pushchair really struggles and young children are especially vulnerable. It is also on the raised speed bump. We URGENTLY need either a crossing or yellow lines here for at least the length of the raised area before a serious accident happens.

Overgrown verge creating sightline difficulties, 14th July
After our last submission to Fix My Street, The verges on Whinlatter Drive were attended by South Lakeland Council ostensibly to address overgrown verges and restricted sightlines. The work was carried out but the height of the hedge on the verge creating the restricted sightline which has caused a number of near misses and is causing the most difficulty for residents at Numbers 19 and 21 Whinlatter Drive has barely been lowered. Whinlatter Drive to the left of the exit from numbers 19/21 falls away into Kirkstone Close. This hedge between Nos 19/21 and 23 restricts the view, from numbers 19 and 21, of vehicles coming up from Kirkstone Close until they are close to our houses. The hedge was lowered by South Lakeland Council staff, when they came to improve sightlines, from 1.2mtrs to 1.15mtrs. I have measured all the other verge hedge heights from 19/21 to Oxenholme Road and they all measure between 0.5 and 0.65mtrs. The verge hedge between numbers 19/21 and 23 Whinlatter Drive is twice the height of the other verge hedges in the street but has the most important sightline. And should be the lowest of them all. Could South Lakeland Council please attend and lower this verge hedge height to be the same height as the other hedges on the street (or lower), or explain why this hedge should be twice the height of the other hedges despite creating the most restricted view.
Attached are a set of pictures which show how far out into the road we have to drive before we can see traffic coming from Kirkstone Close – I have circled a car on Kirkstone Close to show how difficult it is to see with the current hedge height.
