Ice, 20th January
We have not been able to get out of Eskrigg End until today, so have been house bound for 2 days. Please could we have a supply of grit to enable us to get out in the future? A permanently sited grit bin would enable the community to grit the road ourselves. In the future the inability for emergency services to access our community could prove disastrous.

Significant pothole M6 Northbound lane 1 at 200m South of Bridge singposted '413.4', 26th January
This is a very significant pothole right in line with wheel tracks -my light trailer jumped in the air despite being loaded. It appears to need regular maintenance as Google maps show it patched a few years ago.

No street light, 10th November
We have been waiting since the 26th of September for the replacement street light which should be fitted against our gable. This was confirmed by SLDC in their email to me in the 26th of September as follows;
Dear Mr Granger I can now advise that Cumbria County Council have been instructed, as our contractor, to install the heritage light previously referred to.
The costs of this work, including parts and labour, will be 100% financed by South Lakeland District Council.
As such the light will, in the immediate term, be an SLDC asset.
Kind regards
Andrew Vickers | Business Resources Officer

The length of time it has taken to have this fitting installed is embarrassing.
Can you give us an update on an approximate installation date. As the nights are now dark earlier, the risk to people, pets and users of the highway are self evident when roadside during the hours of darkness.
The light is an important part of keeping local residents safe and I'm sure I speak for all that everyone's safety should be central to planning/ reprogramming the installation of this light.

At least 30 potholes old hutton to Beckside, 18th December
There are many potholes on the unnamed road from the B6254 opposite the primary school to Beckside LA8 0NF Grid Ref.558 851. They have been there for a long time and get worse by the day. The last repair job was, in the opinion of most of the users of this road, very shoddy and so obviously temporary. The road is 1/3rd of a mile long and desperately in need of complete re-surfacing.
