Pot hole, 28th January
There is a pot hole at the corner of the road leading to Summerlands on the A65. It is impossible to miss at speed when another car is coming in the opposite direction and will damage tyres. Generally cars will be traveling at 50mph so you don't have enough warning before seeing it to slow down.

11inch hole and various holes also has been there over 6 months, 13th December
I damaged my car at this location in June 2021 at the start of Bleaswood road and adjoining helmside road. I sent an e mail to Cumbria county council with what damage I had sustained to my front suspension and the cost of repairs ,the mechanic told me it was caused by potholes. CCC immediately threw some tarmac that was crumbly into the hole, they did not repair this properly, as the tarmac immediately came out with the first rainfall, SINCE then the pothole is still there and dangerous,I have to make dangerous manoeuvres to avoid it when I need to turn into Bleaswood rd from helmside rd and vice versa. My complaint to CCC was HMS .REF .W 2181049284 and they told me I was not eligible for compensation . The bill was for over £200 and I was devastated. I have been advised to report this to yourselves ,I am in fear of damaging my car again. Also I find that the parking on that stretch of Bleaswood Rd right down to the main road has large vans, this happens on a regular basis, causing lack of vision approaching the main rd ,leaving a dangerous situation ,equally when coming into Bleaswood rd from helmside rd the visibility of anyone coming down Bleaswood rd is impaired and this could cause a serious situation.

Long stretch of deep cracks and potholes, 21st June
The stretch of road between Sedgewick and Natland is full of potholes, deep cracks and botched repairs. The worst section is the stretch closest to the railway near Larkhill Hall. Both sides of the road have strings of potholes several inches deep, and very deep cracks. This forces cyclists to ride around 4ft out into the road. This adds an additional hazard as motorists then feel that cyclists are being inconsiderate, whilst they are only trying to be safe

Potholes along major cycling route, 31st May
Whilst not a cyclist myself I am somewhat concerned about the general road condition and several deep potholes along a major cycling route from Natland to Sedgwick. The road has been in a dire state for a few years. CCC use this route with spreaders in the winter and I dare say this has contributed to the poor state. Whilst pot holes clearly contribute with issues for vehicles it will only be a matter of time before a cyclist has a serious RTC and is left seriously injured or dead and then CCC will be possibly sued. The whole stretch of road needs resurfacing and the camber indicates this. Yours sincerely, Mr M Dodd The Old Barn High House Farm Natland Rd Sedgwick LA80JN
