Building waste and vehicle taking up road and pavement, 4th August
Hello, there’s a building site next to 22 Preston Street and for many months (since Feb I think!) a digger has either been sat on the road or in the site. There’s a pile of pipes, pallets and old furniture and now the shovel of the digger sat on the road taking up at least 3 parking spaces. In all that time, the site has been in use three times. It’s such a nuisance to the neighbourhood and there doesn’t seem to be any urgency to get on with the work despite the huge inconvenience to all around. Please can they be moved on or at least made to clear the road of their rubbish? I live across the road with a toddler and it’s making life very difficult.

Pile of abandoned furniture Stainton St., 27th October
8 Stainton Street is a private let. A mound of furniture appeared over the weekend, which made it nigh on impossible for the telephone engineers to access their telegraph pole with the cherry-picker yesterday. All we need is a gust of wind and this detritus could damage other peoples property/vehicles too. This is a communal right of way and none of the houses have back yards.

Metal cover over pavement near corner of New Street and Preston Street Carnforth., 4th September
Metal cover over channel from buildings to street gutter has "risen" about an inch, and I was told a vehicle had knocked the metal cover, so now it is loose and stand proud of the pavement. Very dangerous for pedestrians. I was also told that a lady had tripped on the metal covering and had "broken her knee", but that is hearsay.

Single lamp standard. Light has failed. Street light which lights up the steps from Haws Hill/Station bus stop down to the carpark., 4th September
Returning from Carnforth Station carpark up to Haws Hill Road via the steps to the side of the bus shelter I noted that the light has failed. The street lights on Haws Hill Road are too far away and too dim to light the steps, and the single standard light has failed. Steps completely dark, and the shrubs made the approach very narrow and very dark. Please get the light fixed, and trip back the shrubbery.. Steps are quite steep and narrow.
