Asbestos dumped, 24th April

Mon, 24 Apr 2023 11:29:49 +0100
53.975852 -2.775429

Whilst in the field next to the M6 I discovered that a full lorry load of asbestos roofing material had been tipped down the banking. it is about half way up the banking. I noticed this off my tractor in the field and the rubbish cannot be seen from the M6 unless seen by someone walking on the hard shoulder. Obviously the tipper did not want his work to be found. This needs urgent attention as it will pollute the water course close by

Closure of M6 southbound junction 33 to 32., 12th September

Mon, 12 Sep 2022 10:44:33 +0100
53.974277 -2.7719

I live in Garstang and use the A6 to get to Preston or the M6 at junction 32. The knock on effect of the M6 closure means a huge volume of traffic on the A6 for 8 miles. Whilst this is frustrating for motorway users it is also extremely frustrating for local people who for 4 weekends feel they are unable to get out of town due to the huge volume of traffic and the knock on effect of time to get to your destination. Could work not be carried out overnight to minimise disruption?

Compete Chaos, 12th September

Mon, 12 Sep 2022 09:57:18 +0100
53.977897 -2.776974

Please, please put something in place to allow traffic to flow southbound on the M6, possibly a contraflow to ease the situation on the M6. This weekend’s roadworks between junctions 32 and 33 on the M6 has put many people and animals in danger with ambulances being called out and tailbacks taking over 10 hours to clear. This is unconscionable and has to be rethought.

Roadworks causing danger, 11th September

Sun, 11 Sep 2022 16:55:35 +0100
53.973578 -2.77194

The full closure of the southbound carriageway this weekend has caused dangerous volumes of traffic on trunk roads and minor roads as people struggle to get to places while the M6 is shut. The small villages that lie on the A6 and the surrounding roads simply cannot cope with this additional volume of traffic. Why was a contra-flow system not put in place on the motorway instead? Or night time only?

Galgate closure, 11th September

Sun, 11 Sep 2022 16:11:04 +0100
53.978312 -2.77737

I’m a resident of Lancaster and this weekend traffic has been awful it took me 2 hours to travel 3 miles in none moving traffic caused by the weekend closure of the motorway. I believe this is going to have a detrimental impact on business in Lancaster and it also causes issues with emergency services and care services working in the community, we only have a 10 minute travelling time between clients and clients who are on time critical medication. I understand there can be a number of reasons that traffic can occur but to fine that this is going to be until the end of September really does affect peoples lives who are relying on ourselves as care workers to be there at certain times to give life saving medication.

Embankment adjacent to Lancaster Services, 28th May

Sat, 28 May 2022 08:01:45 +0100
53.961569 -2.759466

There is a serious rat infestation on the embankment adjacent to Lancaster Services. If you look over the fence, down the embankment from the car park (beyond the service area demise), there are a number of burrows and rat activity. From there they are running up the bank, along and into the car park, around cars and customers.

53.962749 -2.796426

In response to planning application 20/00192/FUL, LCC Highways have recommended that this public right of way be widened at the junction with Cockerham Road and extended to contain passing places. This will impact on the Oak, Ash, Sycamore, Beech & Holly Trees along this way, as well as hedgerows which contain wildlife including squirrels, deer, stoats, jays, woodpeckers etc.

A big hole is now causing problems particularly with trailers which bounce when passing. Yesterday some material came out of a trailer and just missed my grandson when we were walking home. The area just over the canal bridge and on top of the bridge is in poor condition. Repair work is greatly needed. There should also be a consideration to ban large vehicles down this narrow lane. They are destroying the lane in many ways., 15th April

At approx opposite Crookhey Hall on B 5272 and travelling north towards Lancaster. Several large areas of fallen road surface emerging from verge and into the road by a couple of feet. Hit one the other day and felt that I may have broken my springs it was so violent. Road used a lot by cyclists and motorcyclists and could be thrown from machine by the depth and area involved.
