Cars parking at the end of Bowland View, 5th February

Mon, 05 Feb 2018 15:29:46 +0000
53.997374 -2.84976

Cars are parking at the end of Bowland View. We can not see up the hill to safely leave Bowland View as cars and vans are parked on Tithebarn Hill on the pavement. You can not safely walk with a pram or a child on the bike on the pavement as the cars and vans are parked so close to the wall. I have seen school children walking in the road as they can not walk on the pavement. There is going to be a serious accident as cars leaving Bowland View can not see any traffic coming down Tithebarn Hill.

Collapsed Drain/flooding/pothole., 2nd January

Tue, 02 Jan 2018 11:29:44 +0000
53.994481 -2.848193

Hello We are receiving numerous complaints regarding the flooding adjacent to Glasson School. Being the landowners of the area either side of the road we are being blamed for the subsequent flooding which is now covering the pavement and thus stopping pedestrians from walking down School Lane. Following our own investigation into the drainage the water lever on the opposite side of the road is some 4ft lower. I would be obliged if you could arrange a meeting with Mr John Lamb, Old Glasson Farm 01524 751469 to discuss this problem. Regards Councillor James Lamb.

Collapsed drain, 5th December

Tue, 05 Dec 2017 09:33:28 +0000
53.994508 -2.848598

Hello, we seem to have a problem with a drain at the highlighted location. A few weeks ago we noticed an awful lot of water accumulating in the adjacent field. Assuming the problem mite be our own being the landowners on both sides of the road we subsequently excavated the drains in both fields. After inspection it became clear the problem was beneath the road, potholes quickly appeared which were filled in by highways only to reappear within a few days. I can only assume the drain has collapsed. During the recent heavy rains the road became flooded and so did the pavement making it unusable to pedestrians for the best part of a week. With more unsettled weather forecast for the rest of the week I expect the road and pavement to be flooded once again. Regards Councillor James Lamb.
