FIXMYSTREET IN LA14 4QJ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of LA14 4QJ:
Not enough signage, 9th April
On the way to askam there is roadworks that are just behind a bend. There is minimum road signs and no big signs telling people to slow down. The speed limit for this road is 60mph. However, most people exceed this limit and I see this daily. I would also like to state the road is downhill which naturally increases speed and reduces stopping as quick. I have been at the lights on various occasions and other road users have put there hazards on as it feels as though people are going straight in the back of you.

Poor Drainage, 3rd December
Standing water after rainfall or snow. I presume the drainage is blocked as it a permanent problem and is dangerous at night due to it been in a unlit area and goes across the carriageway

Consistent excessive flooding - Fatality waiting to happen, 8th December
The same issue as reported at 08:23, on Wednesday 27 October 2021. And updated by myself this morning around 06:15.
This hazard really needs urgent attention before a fatal RTC occurs. Especially in winter following rain.
The whole west bound carriageway floods. No road lighting. At the foot of a steep hill above a train bridge. 60Mph speed limit. All traffic forced to go against oncoming 60mph traffic that never naturally gives way. Should be treated as top priority in my opinion. Especially regarding motorcyclists and cyclists

Standing water obstruction. Blocked drain ?, 27th October
During any wet weather this section of road collects water over 10 m in length, completely covering the west bound carriageway to such a degree that cars are forced into the opposite carriageway to avoid the pool of water. I am a cyclist faced with this pool of water every raining day en route to work. Cycling through the water, debris is a problem. Cars passing through the water creating a large spray of water. Completely covering me and unbalancing me. Avoiding the water forces me into the path of vehicles approaching from behind. Unlit portion of road, in the dark, vehicles approaching the hazard at 60 mph +.
