Unsafe parking by cottages means emergency vehicles cannot gain access, 20th June
The width of the carriageway is only 310cm which is the minimum width to allow fire engine access (see photo). Residents and holiday cottage visitors park their vehicles directly in front of their cottages which obstructs the road: see photo; the situation has at times been even worse due to vehicles parked in front of cottages numbers 1 and 2. Our neighbours have been unable to pass in their 4x4 vehicles and an ambulance would be unable to pass. This is putting everyone at risk. The only solution would be to paint double yellow lines at the entrance to our road. Please do this before someone comes to serious harm.

Tree hanging over the carriageway, 3rd December
Since we experienced high winds a while ago a tree up on the banking is now hanging above the road parallel to it. It does not affect current traffic movement, as it is high enough for everything to pass underneath, but I am concerned that it may come down in high winds, it does look precarious. Maybe you are already aware of it and have inspected it and it is safer than it looks.

40/NSL sign missing, 20th November
The 40/NSL sign is missing from the East-bound side of the road. This has been hit by an HGV again. This is the 3rd or 4th time in the last 2-3 years! This is either deliberate or an accident. This stretch of road also needs a retaining barrier before the HGVs that are repeatedly hitting the sign roll off the road. HGVs encroach on the verge on such a regular basis, there will soon be a serious accident.

12 inch drop at edge of road, 13th February
HGVs have misjudged the edge of the road and gouged out the soft verge so there is now a foot drop off the edge of the tarmac. The vehicles responsible have managed after some distance to get back on the road. If a car hits this drop it won’t be so lucky. A road sign has also been flattened which makes the place easy to spot. The minimum that is needed is some hardcore in the deep drop in the verge.
