Dangerous and unsafe surface and hard shoulder, 16th August
A590 sections require surface improvements and hard shoulder widening to make travel safer for other road users- eg bicycles. Average speed check or speed cameras would also improve safe travel here. This is a very dangerous section of road where people drive like maniacs as I am confident the accident statics show. Please improve it.
Kind Regards

Unnecessary temporary traffic lights, 7th May
Temporary traffic lights have been installed around United Utilities work that partially encroaches onto the A590 at Tebay Lane Ulverston. These are causing long tailbacks in both directions delaying many hundreds of journeys. Whilst I accept that traffic lights may be necessary to protect the workforce, there is no work in progress. These traffic lights could have been stood down and simple signage put in place advising road users of a slightly narrowed lane in the Ulverston direction.

Significant traffic jams, 2nd November
The major through road has been partially shut with a 3 way traffic light system for the last 24hrs apparently to complete water main works (so assume united utilities) . it is due to be the case for 2 weeks from 2/11/21. This has immediately created major delays of upto 1.5hrs for road users in both directions. No work appears to have started in the first 24hrs. This delay is unacceptable for planned works and must not be permitted to continue for 2 more weeks. If the work HAS to go ahead then it must be with maximum urgency and working 24hrs etc.

Traffic bollard removed making vehicle access on “NO THROUGH ROAD”, 31st August
This is the second time of reporting this problem - the first the problem has been totally misinterpreted. The main point being that Hoad Lane is, and always has been, a “no through road” to traffic. (The sign at the bottom of the lane clearly shows that it is a cul-de-sac). But the TOP END of the lane has now been recently opened up (near the turning circle) and made into a Rat Run by the removal of a stone bollard which stopped vehicles from entering and exiting the TOP end of Hoad Lane and through into the Ford Park community. Vehicles are now constantly using Hoad Lane to drive up and through into the Ford Park Community/Base Restaurant area and back. As Hoad Lane comes off the A590 with a very sharp turn and has a blind spot when exiting this has become very very dangerous to say the least.
