Rattling manhole cover, 27th April
Hello I reported back in April 2024 after the road had been resurfaced about a manhole cover that was rattling whenever a vehicle went over it, unfortunately it has started doing it again which can make it quite annoying at night time especially when trying to get sleep, it would be great if somebody could have a look at it... especially if it is loose, it might do damage to a vehicle if left to get worse.

3-4 large deep potholes, 18th April
Priory Road Ulverston. Pot holes are large and quite deep (tyres won't skim over them without car wheel going in them) and they are in such a position it is hard to avoid them if a car is coming in other direction. Damage to cars/accident is going to happen.

These potholes have been gradually getting worse and despite being reported many times have not been repaired. They are all the way up Stockbridge Lane from the Daltongate junction to Stonecross Garden turn off. They are dangerous and will cause an accident and injury if not repaired soon.

Pedestrian lights not working, 4th April
When crossing the a590 from princes street in the direction of the town centre on the right hand side. The push button for the pedestrian crossing is not operational. This is a very busy road and pedestrians have to rely on working out the sequence of traffic lights to decide if it is safe to cross.

Delayed Traffic Lights, 28th March
The traffic lights at the crossroads junction of Daltongate Ulverston with the A590 appear to be delayed. Approaching from Daltongate or from the retail park you now need to wait much longer than before for the lights to change, even if there is no or minimal traffic on the A590.
Have these lights recently been adjusted because they never used to have this long delay?
I would be interested to know if the traffic light sequence has a fault or has been adjusted on purpose. If the latter is it possible to have the delay decreased?

Traffic lights working incorrectly, 18th March
Traffic lights on ulverston road not working correctly- limiting 1-2 cars through at a time heading towards Barrow
Report on FixMyStreet
Pedestrian crossing not working, 8th March
When heading from princes street across the A590, the button on the pedestrian crossing lights does not operate. Only in that one direction as the button coming the other way operates correctly.
This is quite dangerous for pedestrians as they have to manually judge the sequence of traffic lights in order to cross.

Footpath, hedge and grass, 13th February
The footpath from the crossing to the homes at the end of this footpath is currently very difficult to walk on due to the brambles from the hedge, the grass verge from the kerb to the footpath has grown over the footpath. Families, pushchairs and wheelchair users would not be able to access the footpath. There is a bus stop at this location. Sometimes cars are parked across the footpath forcing walkers to step on to the A590 to pass by. There is a pedestrian crossing nearby accessed by school children, nursery children, families and general walkers.

Pavement no longer safe for increased footfall., 3rd January
The pavement on the A590 between the Lightburn Road junction and Beehive business park is not safe for the increased number of pedestrians who use it since the creation of Beehive business Park. Lots of Ulverston residents walk up to Aldi, M&S, Screwfix etc. via this route, but no account of this was taken in the planning process. As usual convenience for drivers has superceded any consideration for pedestrians. The pavement is very narrow (not wide enough for two people to safely pass at points) and there is no safety barrier between the pavement and road at any point. This is dangerous as it is a dual carriageway with a speed limit of 40mph. There is a solid, very high wall on the other side of the pavement for most of the way, so if a car lost control on the bend pedestrians have nowhere to go and wouldn't stand a chance. My suggestions are: keep the speed limit at 30mph until the far side of Swarthmoor; Remove the narrow grass area on the pavement, slightly widen the pavement and install a safety barrier between the road and pavement all the way from the Lughtburn Road junction and the business park. Please don't wait for someone to be killed or seriously injured before acting on this request.
Kind regards
