Lack of speed signs and traffic calming measures, 16th December
Drivers along Keldgate are frequently in excess of the speed limit. Although drivers should know that this road is 30mph speed limit, there are no signs or 'actual speed' signs to remind them. Residents and school children using the very narrow footpaths are at risk of being struck by close passing vans, 7.5 ton trucks and coaches, whose wing mirrors are a serious danger to pedestrians. Elderly residents of Ann Routh House are particularly concerned when using their mobility vehicles along the footpath. I fear at the point where the road narrows at George Odey Court, it is only a matter of time before there is a serious accident.

Blocked drain causing lots of run-off down the Woodlands path, 13th April
A drain along this footpath has been blocked. A few years ago, a member of my family saw workmen pouring unused concrete mix down the drain. He thinks that caused this problem as it always causes a lot of water to run down Woodlands every time it rains. That might be useful info when sending someone to look at it.

Neighbour persistently parking in turn around area of cul de sac, 23rd February
Neighbour persistently parks 2 out of the 3 vehicles they own in the turn around area of the cul de sac, making it extremely difficult for residents and visitors to turn around. This could also be a potential hazard for emergency vehicles. Neighbour in question has a drive that will accomadate 2 cars plus a garage. This has been going on nearly 3 years, the person who parks the vehicles does not even own a property on the street just lives with someone that does. The obstruction is on St.Albans close Beverley .

Dangerous road markings, 17th September
Whilst on a club cycle ride this morning, 0900, Wednesday 17th September, we rode along Lairgate from Keldgate in single file, at the point of the crossroads with Champney lane and just past the zebra crossing heading towards North Bar along Lairgate, we encountered a major road hazard which nearly led to six riders, myself included, unbalanced, struggling to stay upright and just narrowly avoid crashing.
The cause of the incident has been caused by the newly laid double yellow lines which have been laid over the existing old yellow lines, thus raising them to a substantial height which is enough to “take away” the wheels of a bicycle if the rider has to ride over them with too shallow an angle. I myself got stuck between the two lines, loosing my balance and struggling to stay upright and only by stopping was I able to continue and then ride well away from the yellow lines up to North Bar.
Due to the volume of traffic at that time of morning, we was lucky not to have had a serious accident if a rider had been unbalanced and fell off into the overtaking traffic.
I learnt how dangerous yellow lines can be to cyclists in the 70’s when I was brought down by them and try to avoid them, these yellow lines are the most dangerous I have ever seen since and it is inevitable a cyclist or cyclists will be brought down by them with unknown consequences
