A4010 Bradenham Road, at the laybye for Wycombe-bound buses, 6th May
The edge of the road is badly broken, leaving a dangerous 4 inch deep pothole as per the photos. A yellow highlighter pen in the photos gives a sense of scale.
I reported this on 09 March with accompanying photos, ref 5688324 . At that time the feedback received was that “No immediate safety issues” were identified. The same defect has now been reported by someone else in 25 April, ref 5896387.
The defect was already, and remains, a significant hazard to buses servicing this bus stop. But this same laybye is used by a large number of other motorists (cars & lorries) as an extremely convenient pull in off the busy & dangerous A4010. The pothole presents a likely cause of nearside tyres blowout.
Thank you

West Wycombe, Slough Lane; fly-tipped concrete spread along a 75 metre stretch, 2nd May
Many chunks of demolished concrete wall have been fly-tipped along a 75 metre stretch of Slough Lane. Someone has already reported this, ref 5912296, but wasn’t able to include photographic evidence that might help. I will make 2 new reports in order to share additional photographic evidence.
Location: starting at Chorley Road end of Slough Lane, travel as far as the entrance on the right to Butlers Hangings Nature Reserve. The fly-tipping starts 50 metres further on, and is only on the right hand verge.
Unusually, many chunks of concrete must have been thrown manually from a moving vehicle, into the hedge & undergrowth. In total there are approx ten significant deposits. To recover it all will be a hassle because some is hidden in roadside vegetation. A yellow highlighter pen is in some photos for scale.
Note that whatever was demolished has a thick layer of blue/grey paint on one side, that can be seen in the photos to be peeling off. Is that floor paint? Thank you

Junction of Hillview to Cilternview, 23rd April
A pothole has formed in an area that has previously been repaired.
The junction has had multiple repairs previously which are now failing leading to this new pothole and a general breakdown of the road surface across the junction (as shown in the photographs).
The pothole is particularly problematic for vehicles entering Chiltern view from Hillview due to it’s location.

Missing cover Location HP14 4AA, what3words //award.finely.shimmered, 21st April
This was first reported to the council on 17th April but has not been dealt with as at this morning 21st April. This is an emergency but the "emergency" number provided is a customer services number and was not answered this morning as customer services is closed at weekends! The missing cover will cause cycling fatalities as well as serious vehicle damage if the cover is not replaced immediately or a temporary cover provided and the location properly cordoned off to alerts and protect road users until the appropriate agency can replace the cover. Bucks Highways Team should act now please to prevent loss of life, serious injury or serious vehicular damage to road users of this very busy stretch of road during the week and at weekends.

Chinnor Road, Bledlow Ridge en route out of village towards Loxborough Hill, 19th April
URGENT. A 40cm x 20cm metal cover is missing from an access hatch for waterworks, in the middle of the left hand half of the highway, ie severe hazard to traffic heading towards West Wycombe [or to anyone overtaking and coming in the opposite direction]. Any rider on 2 wheels will crash if they are unfortunate enough for a wheel to fall into the void. The road is unlit.
This defect was reported by someone at 13h56 on Wednesday 17 April, ref: 5865453. The photos accompanying that report are self explanatory. The automated feedback explains that the remedial action will be the utility company’s responsibility. This is completely understood. What DEFIES COMMON SENSE is that in the meantime there is NO WARNING WHATSOEVER of the hole in the road [observed first hand on Friday afternoon 19 April]. This MUST BE THE URGENT RESPONSIBILITY OF BUCKS HIGHWAYS. I do not believe that any form of traffic cones or barrier has been placed to warn motorists, and which have now been “stolen”.
NB The utility company might believe that it already fixed the problem, following a report to FixMyStreet on 13 March 2024, ref ref: 5706193. The cover was indeed replaced, but it subsequently failed and is once again completely missing.

Cricket Club advertising signs, 12th April
Around the cricket club and tennis club entrance/exit there are up to 4 signs placed on the council owned grass verge. This is a hazard for motorists especially motorcyclists as they are so close to the road. There has been a Facebook post about it on the Bledlow group where I can only assume no permission of any kind has been acquired from the council. Could you arrange for a letter to be sent to them after the sign has been removed telling them they need permission for signs of this nature unless it’s is on ground that is actually owned by them. Thank you.
