PROW Impassable, 29th November
Soon after the PROW FP enters the wooded section next to the River Nidd opposite Old Twine Mill it is beset with problems, a lot of the path seems to have slipped into the river, there is one section which is hard to clamber over where a tree has fallen into the river, taking the bank with it, then by the weir the stones are treacherous, it would be so easy to slip into the river and be swept away. Finally where the path crosses Hawkshaw Gill there is no bridge, only a few slippery stones. I gave up trying to get along the rest of the path, and instead cut up through the wood to meet up with the one coming in from Harewell Hall. RouteCode : 15.29/1/4

Regular Severe flooding on steps and pavement, 25th January
With even the slightest amount of rainfall, water pours out of the stone wall on Ripon Road, opposite the Methodist Church and floods over the pavement. With heavier rain, the water also pours down the steps that join The Avenue to RiponRoad. It is impossible to walk on that section of pavement or steps without risk of ankle deep water, never mind slipping over. I have also seen elderly residents regularly getting splashed from head to waist with water as cars drive through the small stream running down the road next to the kerb (the pavement is narrow at that point so you can’t step out the way). This has been like this for several years but is particularly bad at the moment. It is a hazard to elderly residents in particular. I have a video but it wouldn’t let me attach it so please let me know how I can do this. Thank you
