FIXMYSTREET IN HG3 2BQ
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of HG3 2BQ:
Large vehicles passing Killinghall CoE Primary School at peak times, 17th April
Hello. Your vehicles are passing Killinghall CoE Primary School at peak times, Yorkshire Water who have works going on up Crag Lane have agreed not to send large vehicles up Crag Lane at peak school pick up and drop off times as the lane is narrow and their vehicles are very large and passing the children close to pavements is scaring them. There are parked cars around that area at peak times which does lead to your vehicles having issues passing. If you speak to Yorkshire Water about this they'll tell you about their agreement to limit access at peak times (my case with them ref V424891). I have evidence of your vehicles driving up that route at peak times having issues passing parked cars; 1st March 8:57AM vehicle reg NX73 SXD, 11th April 8:40AM vehicle reg YJ18 MUC.
Please can you look to limit your access on this road to outside school peak hours. Just to note this has been reported on my the local press previously also, see: https://thestrayferret.co.uk/yorkshire-water-apologise-after-lorries-pass-killinghall-school/
Thank you
Tom Beardsell

Utility ironwork failing, 27th January
The surround to this ironwork is failing. Knowing the material used, this can only be due to the poor substructure. This road needs to be dug up and relayed.

Uneven surface, 1st December
The beige, quick fix, “safety surface”, has unsurprisingly become more of a hazard than any original problem. Chipped off, worn away, uneven and DANGEROUS. If my wheels are bobbing up and down they’re not in constant contact with the road surface are they? This, of course, increases braking distance. DO NOT USE THIS STUFF. Tarmac. That’s what you want.

The path is dangerously overgrown., 3rd August
The path is unsafe due to overgrown grass/woodlands/ etc etc. The path is used a lot by both pedestrians and cyclists and is dangerously overgrown (possibly 50% of its width covered) and slippery. It needs cleaning up and would not be a big job at all. It hasn’t been looked at for over a year - and when it was last done was only after my mother in law had slipped and we messaged on here. Thanks.

No street lighting or pavement on B6161, 31st October
We leave in a complex of 6 houses all originating from Killinghall Moor Farm. There is no pavement or street lighting as the road is a B road B6161 and very busy, from the roundabout with A59. However now after the new converted houses within our complex there is a lot more activity on foot - walking to the Curious Cow pub and walking dogs etc - The traffic is very fast and there are potholes in the grass verge which are impossible to see at night. We ideally need a lampost fitting between the crossing to the pub and the shared drive entrance to our houses. Please feel free to visit. This issue has been going on for the last 10 years but it is only this year there is now 6 houses all with 2 or 3 cars each. We also have older people living in these properties who fall easily so a light and pavement would help immensley.

Footpath is blocked by overgrown hedge, 22nd August
The hedge at the corner of cautley drive and otley road is very overgrown.
It is very high and more than halfway across the pavement, blocking access and making it impossible for wheelchairs and pushchairs to safely cross Cautley Drive going west to west.
At the dropped kerb you have to walk at least two metres into the road before it's possible to see whether there is any traffic coming down cautley drive. I've seen at least one car make an emergency stop when a parent attaemtped to cross the road with a pram.

Ironwork in below road level, 28th June
All the ironwork is below the road level so when vehicles pass over it makes a noise. This is particularly bad when empty wagons pass over late at night which makes a terrible racket and makes the house shake.
