Footpath sign at point indicated on Chase Lane is ne, 31st January

Wed, 31 Jan 2024 17:21:08 +0000
51.598811 -2.383583

The footpath sign at the point indicated is so badly damaged (road accident?) as to be almost hidden by the hedgerow. The gate leading into the field beyond may well have been replaced by the landowner. Is the footpath still a public right of way or has it been diverted?

Outside Harley Gate Farm. What3words - appetite.pocket.discusses I am the Network Manager for Bristol Water. The old AC main runs directly through the culvert and causes blockages to Hareley Gate Farm. We are looking to dig down on top of the culvert, remove a section, remove the AC pipe, and then will need some assistance in repair the culvert before we backfill and reinstate.

50cm pothole at bottom of hill, 21st May

Tue, 21 May 2019 19:11:00 +0100
51.588645 -2.344019

This pothole is a potential death trap. It's at the bottom of a steep hill, on a narrow lane, and is in the shade so it's very difficult to see. It's about 50x40x6cm and right on the line that any cyclist would take. It's deep enough to throw a bike over with the impact. It's just before the cattle grid, right by a drain, as you come down from Somerset monument towards Inglestone Common.

Farmer Has Covered Road in Mud Resulting in a Cyclist Crashing, 17th October

Wed, 17 Oct 2018 19:09:22 +0100
51.595152 -2.338571

17th Oct/18 One of our cycling group skidded and crashed on the Lane directly outside Lovetts Wood Farm due to the road being covered in slippery mud. Luckily the cyclist did not suffer and broken bones but did incur cuts and bruises and damage to his bike and clothing. There were no warning signs that the road was muddy! Unfortunately this is a typical example of farm activity having a direct impact on the safety of other road users and Farmers not taking responsibility for their actions. In this case it was lucky that the cyclist did not suffer any broken bones.

Blocked footpath, 5th February

Fri, 05 Feb 2016 09:50:08 +0000
51.585641 -2.347803

I was walking the footpath from Hawkesbury Common towards Orange End from bridge at ST 75940 87441 towards ST 75980 87511. As I walked across the field a lady shouted at me that the path went left after the bridge. I said that there were two paths on the map and she claimed that I was using an old map and that the path no longer went that way. Although I knew that she was incorrect I decided that as she had a dog I would not provoke an argument and went the other way. The sign on the footbridge showing the second path also appeared to have been removed I should be grateful if you would investigate. Thanks
