Road Signs - very dirty, 10th March
The Road signs going into East Kilbride at the Kingsgate are absolutely filthy and unreadable - just wondering if anyone will give them a jet wash and clean them. There are a lot of signs with similar black coating that completely negates the need for a road sign as you can’t read it.

Large pothole on junction corner., 24th February
There's a pothole where Dunrobin Drive meets Dunrobin Crescent.
It is very deep, and positioned in such a way that cars turning left onto Dunrobin Drive need to take a much larger angle, often ending up on the wrong side of the road, and this can be dangerous when there is oncoming traffic.

Culvert burnbrare east kilbride, 7th December
I tried to make this complaint on the SLC web site only to be told that there was a fault and I was asked to do so again. I am not willing to waste more time jumping through hoops on that user unfriendly site. Why can fault reporting not be made easier as on FixMyStreet that you guys say you do not cooperate with? HERE IS THE COMPLAINT. IT NEEDS FIXING URGENTLY. As I have complained about many times in the past this concerns once more the culvert and footbridge at Burnbrae Place, East Kilbride, as it goes under the railway. The location of the footbridge means that is gets no sunlight at this time of year so it will become a skating rink as the frosts begin, the reason as follows. In 2001 a man died after he fell in to the burn here due to the council failing to repair the handrail that was damaged by council vehicles crossing what is supposed to be a footbridge. The repairs that then took place designed in a serious fault in the bridge surface, in that the new handrails mountings sit proud of the surface of the bridge which creates a ponding effect when it rains or snows, this pond then becomes an icerink due to frost. The bridge surface has no natural drainages as the one further on at Dornoch Place does. There is no grit in the vicinity. The bridge location at the foot of a North facing slope means that it gets all the run of water from the tarmac area above it. A new problem has now appeared as the water running of the bridge as it floods and overflows has found a route in to the burn below from the right side of the bridge on the approach from Burnbrae. This is now undermining the footpath and has caused a hole there, large enough to let a small person slip in to the flood below! And getting larger by the day. So another disaster in the making. I have lived near here and walk the area most days for the past three decades. This area had been for all that time a mismanaged neglected eyesore fraught with danger for all. One fatality is one to many. The grid on the culvert, recently replaced, is causing flooding to the burn as it quickly chokes up during rain which we get a lot of. No amount of activity by workers will keep this grid clear it is causing much more health and safety issues than it has ever solved. The burn should be allowed to run free thus keeping it's own bed clear of leaves branches and debris. The last reason I was given for this insane grid is that it is there to stop any blockage to the underground stream that runs through the park. I have never heard such nonsense. There is no history of such events pre grid. It needs to be taken away, asap. You are creating more public health and safety issues at the bridge by insisiting on keeping this grid than you are solving. A proper fence around the burn would be a good start as at the moment it is a joke. Just cheap and nasty patching up. Please address these problems before we hear of another accident. This bridge is very busy during school hours as pupils from Duncanrig, Kirktonholme, St Kenneths and other primaries use it to get to and from school. Surely it is a primary responsibilty to provide safe and secure footpaths and bridges for these kids, never mind the rest of us who risk life and limb on the potholed broken slabs and tarmac that passes for footpaths. These paths that have been wrecked by heavy council machinery that charges around during grass cutting times, smashing what was laid only for feet, decades ago and unmaintained since. Regards Duncan Macniven Regards Duncan Macniven Sent: Friday, July 08, 2011 at 2:44 PM From: "Duncan Macniven" <dmacn@gmx.com> To: pach.exec@southlanarkshire.gov.uk Subject: Council neglect and vandalism. Dear Mr Stang,
I don't know if you get to see these e-mails, but here goes anyway.. If you would I would be obliged if you will look at the blog I have set up to record the lack of service and amenity we in this area of West Mains East Kilbride G74 1ET are the victims of.
My compaints to our councillors just get referred to the appropriate department where fine words are issued from but never ever followed on with actions.
Regards, Duncan Macniven, 7 Methven Place, East Kilbride, G74 1ET.
