Dangerous parking on Hawthorn Pl, 27th April

Sat, 27 Apr 2024 18:54:37 +0100
55.929908 -3.510399

This van is parked on the corner of the junction almost every day, it’s impossible to see if it’s clear when pulling out of the junction. I’ve had to slam the brakes numerous times as well due to people swerving into the street, who are unable to see me. It’s the corner between St Andrews Dr and Hawthorn Pl in Uphall, West Lothian. Issue has been occurring since before Feb 2024 when I moved into the street.

Golf course drainage, 5th April

Fri, 05 Apr 2024 21:38:45 +0100
55.922723 -3.515448

During heavy rain periods (which happen often) huge volumes of water comes off the golf course and on to the A89. Due to the many trees situated along the golf course edge the drains get blocked almost straight away with leaves. This forces all the water to continue down the road over the inersection of station road (which has recently been resurfaced) and into drains further down the A89. This issue has been on going for years and something needs to be done to control the water flow. The water is causing damage to the road due to the volume it comes down with a lot of force. A large pot hole has been created (reported seperatly). There is a constant trail of stone chips and debris down the side of the road which is causing unnecessary damage to my car. I live less than a minute away from this affected area. Either West Lothian Council or Uphall Golf Course needs to take responsibility for this and implement a solution. Perhaps land drains dug into the space between the edge of the course and the road would be appropriate. I know that not all water can be stopped going into the road way. I advise who ever deals with this to attend on a heavy rain day and you will see the volume and force of water and the damage it’s causing

Flytipping, 8th March

Fri, 08 Mar 2024 13:53:01 +0000
55.912941 -3.508223

Nettlehill Road, Houston Industrial Estate, Livingston. Nettlehill Road is a Long Road which runs south to north then east to west as you will see from the map, this area is a constant dumping ground, Mr Jim Allan of West Lothian Litter Pickers could validate my claims. I re-iterate that the Netting attached to perimeter fences could prevent Wind Blown Litter from travelling further afield.

Accumulation of Litter Waste, 4th March

Mon, 04 Mar 2024 15:34:53 +0000
55.904849 -3.51821

Hi Folks, Earlier today, I nipped into Aldi Knightsridge in Livingston, West Lothian, I made a +VE solution suggestion to the Aldi Store Attendant in that Micro Netting - See 2nd Picture Attached, could be attached around the Aldi Stores Perimeter Fence hence preventing the wind dispersal of the Litter Waste spreading further. The Aldi Store Attendant mentioned that they employ someone to carry out this task, this has been an on going problem with the Aldi Knightridge Store since construction, It may be that Aldi Staff clean the Aldi Car Park only, however, during high winds there is obviously going to be Wind Dispersed Spreading of the Litter Waste to a wider area which is very evident. THIS IS NOT WEST LOTHIAN COUNCILS FAULT. Prevention Will Always Be Better Than Cure & would the Green Micro Netting seen on the Picture Attached be a more effective solution environmentally?

I have attached pictures which show the accumulation of litter waste which has always been an ongoing issue at this location and leaving bags filled with litter at bus stops may be contributing to the rats being evident can I suggest, with regards to the blocked drain due to the litter waste, I noticed 2 Scottish Water Vehicles near the scene and 1 of the Scottish Water Vans also had a Pump! Hopefully this is for the Blocked Drain, not so sure Scottish Water do Litter Picking Though.

Rats due to Litter Waste - Mercedes BMW Dealer Houstoun Industrial Estate, 8th February

Thu, 08 Feb 2024 13:02:41 +0000
55.909281 -3.504796

With regards to the Rats at the Mercedes BMW Garage mentioned in previous reports to Fix my Street, I have just returned from a daily walk to find no improvements seem to have been made. There is still excessive litter waste which may be why rats are evident. According to WLC it's down to the business owner to deal with this situation.

Rats, 7th February

Wed, 07 Feb 2024 09:16:20 +0000
55.907483 -3.503714

On my way home and heading through Houstoun Industrial Estate Livingston, I happened to catch Rats scuttling through a Grassed Area just outside the perimeter fence of the Mercedes & Bmw used car facility, I informed WLC who once again wriggled out of any responsibility stating that it's down to the business owners of the facility, my point to WLC would be that Prevention will always be better than cure! Rats Bredd and Multiply and obviously carry dangerous diseases not just for human but pets also. DO WAKE UP HUMAN EARTHLINGS AT WLC CAN I SUGGEST!!!
