FIXMYSTREET IN EH52 6DE
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of EH52 6DE:
Dangerous parking on Hawthorn Pl, 27th April
This van is parked on the corner of the junction almost every day, it’s impossible to see if it’s clear when pulling out of the junction. I’ve had to slam the brakes numerous times as well due to people swerving into the street, who are unable to see me. It’s the corner between St Andrews Dr and Hawthorn Pl in Uphall, West Lothian. Issue has been occurring since before Feb 2024 when I moved into the street.

Golf course drainage, 5th April
During heavy rain periods (which happen often) huge volumes of water comes off the golf course and on to the A89. Due to the many trees situated along the golf course edge the drains get blocked almost straight away with leaves. This forces all the water to continue down the road over the inersection of station road (which has recently been resurfaced) and into drains further down the A89. This issue has been on going for years and something needs to be done to control the water flow. The water is causing damage to the road due to the volume it comes down with a lot of force. A large pot hole has been created (reported seperatly). There is a constant trail of stone chips and debris down the side of the road which is causing unnecessary damage to my car. I live less than a minute away from this affected area. Either West Lothian Council or Uphall Golf Course needs to take responsibility for this and implement a solution. Perhaps land drains dug into the space between the edge of the course and the road would be appropriate. I know that not all water can be stopped going into the road way. I advise who ever deals with this to attend on a heavy rain day and you will see the volume and force of water and the damage it’s causing

Flytipping, 8th March
Nettlehill Road, Houston Industrial Estate, Livingston. Nettlehill Road is a Long Road which runs south to north then east to west as you will see from the map, this area is a constant dumping ground, Mr Jim Allan of West Lothian Litter Pickers could validate my claims.
I re-iterate that the Netting attached to perimeter fences could prevent Wind Blown Litter from travelling further afield.

Foot long pothole, cannot avoid, 11th January
This is a lengthy pothole that extends at least a foot across the lane for Bathgate, but it is only a few inches wide so too narrow to see on the approach. Cars currently have no option but to go over it because of the current roadworks. Folk have blown tyres, only going to get worse.

Indiscrimanate Parking Causing Obstruction, 15th September
At 10.30hrs this morning, I had difficulty getting out of our street due to indiscriminate parking by people attending a Funeral at the nearby Loaninghill Cemetery. In the event of an Emergency, delays would have been involved in the EVs getting access. Not only was obstruction caused to motor vehicles entering or leaving some of the vehicles were also parked on the footpath causing obstruction to Disabled or persons with prams.

Garden Mess, 26th July
55 Galmeinen is a council owned property i.e. owned by the taxpayer. The front garden of this property resembles a fly tipping dumping area and is a complete eye sore to the local community. Surely the tenancy agreement states that the property should be kept in reasonable condition.
