Repaired pothole has failed, 15th March
Best, pothollesman previously repaired by the looks of it, but it's failed again. It's right where you put your tires as you're driving along and it's getting kind of deep with sharp-ish edges

Deep pothole, 28th February
It's not overly big but it's quite deep - it's just about the right width to be dangerous to tires. Think it was patched recently but the patch has failed. Lots of debris from it scattered around

Tree trunk snapped next to path, 22nd January
A tree trunk has snapped next to a local path. The tree is clearly moving in the wind. The branches are leaning against another tree so risk to pedestrians doesn't seem high but it could slip

Large pothole, 20th January
Large pothole shortly after the crest of the hill. Looks like a previous patch that has failed. About 1m long at it's longest point. It's on the side of the road nearest the retirement flats and is just over crest of the hill so hard to dodge

Dead badger, 6th January
There's a dead badger at the side of the road. I assume it's a badger from the fur - haven't got close. It's been there for at least a day out two without moving.

Really nasty pothole, 16th December
This pothole appeared recently. It looks like an existing repair job has failed really badly. It's probably 10cm deep, has quite steep edges, is scattering debris everywhere as folk hit it, and is just the right size for a tire to get in to. It's only a matter of time before someone pops a tire on it. Two others have opened up in line with it and there's another further into Springfield Road opposite the bus stop which got a partial repair a while ago that is failing as well and is also right where your tires naturally go in the road (4 in total within a few meters of each other).

Street drains choked with weeds, 3rd September
All of the drains along the B9080 from the cemetery to the canal bridge are choked. This forces rainwater to remain on the surface and cause flooding at the junction to Maidlands, please check all drains and empty them of weeds and silt.

Dangerous parking during Party At The Palace, 21st August
I really cannot stress enough how dangerous parking on this hill is. I complained after the first PATP and was promised cones would be provided in future. The next year, there were plenty of cones and getting in/out of Springfield was easy. This year, the cones were only on one side of the hill (the North side) and this was the result. Both days were bad but the Sunday was much worse. Ironically, an open-backed van full of cones and temporary traffic signs was parked right at the apex of the hill (just before the cones started) making it dangerous to go up the hill on the Saturday before PATP started.
At a minimum, cones must be provided on both sides of this hill every year as parking there reduces the whole section of road to single-lane which is incredibly dangerous on a hill with a blind summit.
I must ask, again, to please consider permanent parking restrictions on that section of the road. There is absolutely no part of the hill that is safe to park on at any time and cones only solve the problem stone. At a minimum, please ensure cones cover the whole of the hill during events, though honestly the first few hundred metres of Springfield Road below the hill would be good, too.

Request for Double Yellow Lines, 14th June
Back in 2016 I asked you to consider adding double-yellow lines to the hill on Springfield Road in Linlithgow near Kinloch View. This was in response to crazy levels of parking for Party At The Palace that year (despite ample designated parking being available). Since then, cones have been supplied for Party At The Palace but other events, and the rest of the year, people still park there despite the obvious danger involved.
Today is the Marches Day and the attached picture shows vehicles parked along a substantial part of the hill. I have no desire to force the Marches organisers to pay for cones and even if they were compelled to add them, it wouldn't help the rest of the year when couriers and other individuals park along there for various reasons.
I recognise that adding double yellow lines there would be costly and involve a consultation, but I honestly believe it is the correct course to pursue as this situation will not go away, given how bad the parking is in Linlithgow at the best of times (and it will only get worse as the population grows). By removing the requirement in groups like Historic Environment Scotland, the Marches Committee, and Party At The Palace to pay for cones, that can only be good for the local economy while improving safety.
Thank you very much.

The weather hasn’t helped and the pothole is getting bigger by the day. It can fill with rain and not be seen by drivers and so they cannot avoid it.

Pothole or collapsed drain, 8th January
There is either a collapsed drain or a large pothole at the side of the road in the direction of entering linlithgow. Though the car wheel was going to come off when it thumped so violently. It's around here certainly after the mini roundabout.

Poor road surface., 23rd July
There’s a patch of road which needs re surfaced just where cars park opposite the old petrol station site. As a cyclist this is very uncomfortable to use and as a driver many are crossing to the other side of the road to avoid the worst bits and the drains and pot holes at the end. Please resurface.
