Broken up road surface, potholes and flooding, 29th February
Road surface as you enter/exit the 30mph zone at Walkerburn has become atrocious. Due to this area being prone to flooding & in conjunction with the recent harsh weather conditions, parts of the road surface here have completely broken down. Both lanes are littered with potholes, cracks and debris. The road surface is uneven and bumpy for about 100yards and only a matter of time before it claims a few tyres/suspension!

There are numerous potholes here and even more when heading up this road towards Walkerburn. I think they are being caused by the mountain biking minibuses etc. There is also an awful lot of verge damage that is contributing to the pot hole situation.

Double Parking, 3rd April
Cars are double parking here stopping disabled people and buggies from using pavement. There is also no way that a fire engine, and possible an ambulance as well, would be able to turn up into the newer houses here as cars are double parked right up onto all the corners of the roadway. It is exteamly tight and difficult in a big car. This has been going on for a number of years now with nothing being done about it. It’s about time either double yellows are painted or police come and issue tickets. One day lives will be in danger!!

The area around the 30mph signs is badly flooded again. This has been a problem for year. Either the drain needs unblocked again or, id suspect, the drain has collapsed and needs dug out and replaced. Something needs done about this!

This section of road right on the blind bends seems to have a steady and regular flow of water that runs slowly across the road. This causes flooding with rain and when it is icy the stretch and bends turn into an ice rink.
