Pothole near Campton House, 23rd December
On my way home from North Berwick to Haddington I encountered a very nasty pothole close to Campton House. I think my tyre and wheel are O.K. but will check tomorrow. The time was approximately 4.30pm on Sunday 23rd Dec 2012

Chevrons on metal poles, 2nd December
When travelling from Drem towards Dirleton, the chevrons at this tight bend are mounted on several tubular metal poles along the outside of a sharp right-hand corner.
If a vehicle leaves the road for any reason it will impact with these poles (as can be seen by one of them currently being at a "jaunty" angle).
As well as causing major damage to a car, this could have fatal implications for a motorcyclist.
It would be safer to replace these tubular steel poles with the more modern "flap down plastic" chevrons which do little or no damage.
