More waste left here. This area is very often experiencing this problem. It would be great to see some people held to account for this and some prosecutions. Many thanks

Some nob has left a rubble bag full of trash in this lovely car park. Probably worth installing some security cameras here as it’s a fairly regular occurrence. Thanks for always clearing it up. Great work.

I have over the last eight months travelled daily along the a71 by Wilkeston, 21st August

Mon, 21 Aug 2023 21:04:06 +0100
55.901447 -3.411034

Road works for over eight months causing extended vehicle pollution by all traffic having to queue for lengthy periods , it appears building contractors are paying no heed to road closure permit timescales with only intermittent works being carried on an adhoc basis.with no continuity or focus to profess the works timeously . Local authority should be enforcing and penalising breaches to ensure works are carried out progressively to avoid vehicle delay and disruption and pollution.

No Progress/Disregard for the local community, 4th July

Tue, 04 Jul 2023 07:18:55 +0100
55.901417 -3.410711

Another week has gone by and the roadworks are still in place causing chaos to local road users. No one is being held accountable for the utterly disgraceful amount of time it’s taking to complete what in other parts of the world are basic groundwork operations. They’ve managed to build six houses in the time it’s taken them to not lay a new road.

Incompetence or corruption, 29th June

Thu, 29 Jun 2023 15:58:48 +0100
55.901095 -3.404894

The delays to traffic going through Wilkieston are completely unacceptable. It seems that no consideration has been given to road users and the local community. Priority has been given to the house builders and their profits and not the commuters who need to use the road. The traffic management at this location is ridiculous. The planners in any developed country would have got this junction completed in a weekend. What on earth is going on? I hope someone is being held to account for this fiasco. It’s this kind of work which is why the UK has such low productivity. All us tax payers are sitting in traffic and not building a strong economy.

Excessive duration, 26th June

Mon, 26 Jun 2023 07:20:07 +0100
55.901339 -3.411456

No meaningful work completed at the site in weeks which appears to only be the implementation of ground works including a pavement and road. The continued distribution to local community is extensive and there had been no due consideration by both the site and council to expedite works to completion or in a timely manner. Traffic management company are incapable of dong their job to a safe standard. I’ve now had three incidents where I’ve came head on with traffic where both sets of lights have been on green whilst being manually controlled by operatives at the site.

Camping and human waste, 6th June

Tue, 06 Jun 2023 08:47:20 +0100
55.91953 -3.433041

I’ve been using this car park pretty much three days each week for the last year and it’s unusual to not have campers staying overnight here. I don’t really object to this as it probably reduces the fly tipping which also occurs quite regularly here. What concerns me is the health hazard posed by people shitting in the surrounding woodland. This morning I interrupted a Slovakian person in the process of relieving themselves by the footpath. This is completely unacceptable and highly unsanitary. Please stop people camping here.

Traffic control, 10th May

Wed, 10 May 2023 16:48:52 +0100
55.901048 -3.405781

I’m generally in favour of employing disabled people in a productive endeavour, but only when it’s safe to do so. Unfortunately the traffic management people who are controlling Wilkieston don’t seem to have the necessary mental faculty. I expect the correct term is neural diverse, but I’m happy to be corrected. The A71 is an arterial route and the traffic chaos around Wilkieston is completely unnecessary and unacceptable. I sit in traffic there several times a day and generally get to see the traffic management team playing on their phones with vacant or confused looks on their faces. There is usually traffic unable to move on a green light as there’s stationary vehicles blocking the junction. Surely most of the friction and frustration would be resolved by treating the whole village as a three way junction. We can and must do better. Keep safe.

Dangerous blind exit causing accidents, 7th April

Fri, 07 Apr 2023 14:12:40 +0100
55.912823 -3.426928

Jupiter Artland just opened for the season and the first accident happened today, caused by someone leaving their blind and very dangerous exit road. Fortunately no-one was hurt but they were visibly shaken and nasty car damage. Quite a few near misses today too with horns sounding. People leaving the exit cannot see cars coming along the road until very close and they then have to accelerate away fast to avoid them. Today that didn't happen. Has already caused quite a number of shunts but there are near misses with cars, heavy vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists every day, not to mention putting the locals and their families at risk. Something serious needs to be done and very quickly. The exit needs to be moved to somewhere else as it is at THE most dangerous part of the road and the exit is totally blind. Don't let a fatality be the cause of something actually doing something.
