Blocked road drain, 11th August
The drain at the side of the road on Boothby Hill is blocked and the water is flooding down the road. The drain blocks regularly, usually with leaves which can be cleared but due to the heavy rain and the recent road works for fibre cabling the drain is blocked with silt and needs to be completely cleaned out.

Large pothole on the approach to level crossing from A69, 26th May
Driving along the road in bright sunlight with dark shadows "dappling" the road surface from over hanging tree. a couple of hundred yards from level crossing there was an almighty bang from my offside suspension as I went down a pothole. It was impossible to see the hole iwith the lighting conditions.

Water on road and gullies blocked, 15th January
This is recurring issue. Gullies are blocked and water is forced across the road. When freezes, it is very dangerous and likely to cause a problem. No grit piles available despite frequent requests. Drainage issue has been reported previously. Local school and child crosses road to catch bus to school - extremely dangerous in ice and a car coming down the hill would not be able to stop.

Fly tip in woodland, 18th November
Beside the Parking lay-by on the south side of the A69, roughly at the point indicated, there is a significant amount of fly tipped material. Heartbreaking to see woodland treated this way.

Sink hole developing., 3rd December
In the middle of the road about 35 metres from where it joins the main road, there is a deep depression resembling a sink hole development. This same area has been subject to previous subsidence and it is happening again. The entire street is in poor condition as are the footpaths and it needs resurfacing.

Childrens scooters dumped, 19th March
The tenant of 68 Stanley Road in Brampton placed 2 children's scooters outside of her house for the bin men a few weeks ago, the bin men didn't take them and they have stood there ever since but now she has thrown them into the field behind the houses next to the Lanercost footpath, she also had a green bin full of general rubbish outside of her house which she is planning to do the same with.

Large tree under Lanercost bridge blocking two arches of the bridge, 24th January
A very large tree has been swept down the river to Lanercost Bridge and is now caught across the river and blocking 2 arches of the bridge. Potential danger if the river floods again in the near future

Roads covered in thick mud after heavy rain, 5th July
After heavy rain there has been a mud slide down Tarn Road and in to the entrance of Hemblesgate Court. Tarn Road is covered in mud and the entrance to Hemblesgate Court is covered in 150mm thick mud / debris. It is suspected that the source of the problem is a newly ploughed field approx 200 metres on the left hand side of the road in the direction of Castle Carrock. Took photo's but cannot attach them. Please treat this as an urgent enquiry.

Drain blocked causing water to run across the road, 13th February
The drain halfway down the hill towards Lanercost bridge is blocked and is causing a flood of water to run across the road. When it freezes, the road surface ices up and makes the main road out of Lanercost very dangerous. (There is no grit pile to use on that stretch either).

2 large fallen trees in Quarrybeck, 29th October
2 large fallen trees are wedged in Quarrybeck under the Abbey Bridge next to Lanercost Bridge. They were washed down from upstream in the last heavy rainfall. There is a severe risk of blockage if the river swells again.
