Continuous water leak onto road for years., 25th January
There has been a continuous water leak onto the road from half way up the drive of the bungalow at this location that is a nuisance during the summer and a serious icing hazard in winter, not to mention the tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of gallons of water lost from this leak over the years that it has been ongoing. If this does not fall under your jurisdiction, but that of the water company (whoever they may be), then please could you pass this on to the water company, or if this is not in your remit then please let us know which company to inform. Thank you for your consideration.

Rapidly increasing potholes in the village's main street., 23rd January
Hello. The western end of the main street/road running through Hayton village has a rapidly increasing number and severity of potholes, aggravated by the low temperatures and rain/ice. These are reaching sizes and depths that are a danger to vehicles, pedestrians/animals (dislodged flying stones) and particularly to cyclists in adverse weather and/or at night. Thank you for your consideration of the matter.

Blocked ditch undermining road structure., 23rd January
Hello. Some time ago the ditches to the immediate east of the East End of Hayton were dredged and one or two improvements to drainage along that stretch of road temporarily eased the problems of road flooding. This, along with resurfacing that stretch, made a good improvement - for a while. The entrance to the field to the south of the road (see photos) had, we assume, a drain laid under the entrance linking the east and west (of the entrance) sections of the drainage ditch. The drainage problem soon returned due to a pipe of obviously insufficient strength being crushed/blocked by the heavy agricultural equipment using that entrance. The water now accumulates (see photos) to the east of the entrance and is causing not only water to run onto the road and into the field, but without doubt will be causing the road sub-surface to be weakened (liquefaction every time vehicles pass over it and vibrate the structure). It will not be long before this stretch of road requires serious, COSTLY, structural repairs and all because of a short section of collapsed/blocked pipe. It would be prudent to replace this pipe with a far stronger section asap in order to avoid costly repairs to the road and the danger and inconvenience to traffic and pedestrians. A good proportion of the cost could be paid by the farmer whose machinery has caused the damage. A similar problem has arisen on the bend approximately one hundred metres to the east of this entrance, though it involves the pipe running under the road itself and causing variable amounts of surface water to run across the road surface with severe icing and considerable danger in the winter. Thank you for your consideration of the matter.

Drain gully blocked with soil and weeds, 14th May
The drains that run the full length of chapel terrace needs clearing and is full of weeds and soil, this is normally done with a industrial lorry with high pressure water and suction. The tarmac pavement also needs cleaning.
If this is not complete before we start to get rain, It will cause surface water since the water cannot go down the drain, This is a yearly task but only gets done when i report it
