FIXMYSTREET IN CA10 1XS
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of CA10 1XS:
Blocked Drains; Collapsed ditch; Blocked culvert;, 16th August
The road drain has been blocked now for several years ( and reported to yourselves several times) A site visit a year ago confirmed this and promised we were 'on the list' but with only one vehicle in the councils control this may be several months ... nothing has happened. In the intervening months the blockage has got worse resulting in road water backing up into the houses rain water system and exploding into the properties. Last night following a heavy rainfall water backflowed into two properties; Hale Grange and 1 Barn Cottages. Nobody was able to take our calls or respond to our situation. Obviously several calls were made this morning to the 'hotline' resulting in various promises of phone backs or at least the provision of sandbags were not fulfilled. At 16.45 i rang again ... Michael ... he apologised for not ringing back, saying a message had been sent ... no sandbags would be deployed ..... we are open to flooding again, this I said was fully 'his' fault and claims for damages from water ingress would result. The original report number IE/166040 we find has been closed ... the blocked drain must have been cleared (laugh out loud) A reason given was the possible ingress of brown water from a neighbours property and a letter had been / woud be sent .... COMPLETE LIE - the neighbours issue was resolved some months ago and Enviro officers had comfirmed this. THEREFORE I request that IE/166040 is reopened, as with all the other numbers relating to this problem and a VEHICLE and operatives capable of drain jetting are despatched to this area TOMORROW - 17th August. We have had a telephone message requesting a telecom with a manager tomorrow morning - we will request a site visit to discuss all the various problems and to access the damage to our properties. I have tonight sandbagged various spots and borrowed a pump to empty the manhole adjacent to our properties

Severe potholes under dark rail bridge makes for dangerous cycling, 4th July
Suggest even without potholes this is a dangerous section of road especially when approached from Newbiggin. It's a black hole that would benefit from lighting.

Mirror down, 14th June
The mirror has been knocked down from an accident, (understandably only yesterday) there will be another if it is not put back up ASAP. This is already a bad get out with the volume and speed of traffic. As a resident of Kirkby Thore it is relied on by many to get out.

Very rough section of road, 10th July
The road looks to have sunk rather than chipped away as you generally find with pot holes. The combination of this happening in multiple areas close together throws the car around a lot.
