More Mindless Graffiti, 13th May

This portion of Regent Hill has again been attacked in the last few days by graffiti vandals. It's not 'art', it's pointless degradation of public spaces by talentless idiots. Why can't the council get a grip on it?

Urgent dangerous pavement repairs needed next to prom railings., 13th May

If you walk along the top promenade on kings road at the bottom of west street, just east of riddle and Finns, there’s a horrible ridge in the tarmac on the pavement about a foot back that will trip someone up and send them plummeting over the railings and so needs attention urgently.

Overgrown hedges obstructing the pavement, 2nd May

Thu, 02 May 2024 19:41:31 +0100
50.834206 -0.174831

Dear City Parks The attached photographs show that hedges are so overgrown on the Clarendon House Housing Estate BN3 3WW that pedestrians are forced to move almost into the road in order to pass them. Clarendon Road is supposed to be a 20 miles per hour speed limit but I regularly see motorcars bombing down this residential road where children live and sometimes run into the road oblivious of the dangers. We don't need this obstruction to the use of the pavement in such an area. Please can someone attend and cut back the hedges.

Poisonous hemlock growing on bank next to train station, 27th April

Sat, 27 Apr 2024 09:42:31 +0100
50.830282 -0.139973

There's quite an infestation of poisonous hemlock on the bank near the lift out the back of Brighton railway station. The plant is extremely toxic when ingested to humans and animals, and can also cause severe skin reactions if touched. I know this is a wildflower bank however it feels like this should be removed so that the seeds (flowers from June, seed from September time) don't spread further through the city.

Poisonous Hemlock growing along the side of the main pavement, 23rd April

Tue, 23 Apr 2024 12:46:21 +0100
50.824272 -0.133826

There's two poisonous hemlock plants growing along the edge of the pavement, where the pavement meets the wall, just by the entrance to Nelson row between Milner flats and the Kingswood Estate - the second is just past nelson row on the kingswood estate side and is smaller. This is of increasing concern as the Puffin Nursery is quite close to where the plant is growing and this is one of the most fatally toxic plants in the UK, with only a small amount (5 leaves even) being deadly to adults, and children are probably susceptible to less. It looks similar to the Cow Parsley the grows in other areas of Brighton, but the difference is that the stalks are green with red splotches whereas cow parsley stalks have a purple hue. When you remove it, which I really hope you will as it's posionous to all mammals (and people walk dogs round there) please take care and wear gloves as it can cause skin irritation as well, and right now, pre flowering, it's at its most toxic.
