FIXMYSTREET IN BB10 3PH
The following problems have been reported on Fix My Street within 2 miles of BB10 3PH:
The Thursden Valley Area overflow tip, 13th May
Having just scoured The Burnley Council web pages and found that a 'Collection" of my old bath & bidet are unavailable, I can now better understand WHY this area is bedevilled with serious Flytipping. A town - apparently set on the idea of setting motorists afoot, if the state of Burnley Centre is anything to go by - has suggested I bring these items in a car. The bath will not fit any car I have knowledge of. Not owning a car at all, another. Do I aid the filling of 'Thursden Valley's Overflow Tip' and risk a further fine - beyond the multi £1000 I pay yearly for less and less of an unfixed bag of services? Or perhaps adapt my front garden to become an external bathroom?

Grass verge in poor condition, 27th March
The grass verge is in permanently poor condition due to vehicles driving over it. It holds water, is unsightly and a trip hazard. The roadway adjacent is starting to break up. Neighbours agree that the short section up to the manhole would be better tarmacked.

Years of substandard road surface patching continue to fail on an annual basis., 15th January
Mountain bike with suspension is the only comfortable way to ride through this section of road.
Has been badly patched several time over the last decade leaving the surface with as many raised lumps as there are potholes continually forming. even driving over the surface in a car resembles driving down a farm track rather than a tarmac road.

Road ruined by lorries, 8th April
4 out of 5 mornings the SPAR delivery drivers use this road to perform a U-turn at 7:00AM in their 40ft artic lorries. The road surface as a result is badly damaged as it is scrubbed by their tyres having to perform this tight manoeuvre in such a large heavy vehicle. The nearby distribution building has regular HGV vehicles causing similar damage.
The road is in desperate need of repair (maybe upgrading to support the HGV traffic) and the SPAR should be instructed to maybe use the bus turn-around area at the top of the main road, would this not be easier and more appropriate?
