NO Entry signs are off, 18th March

Mon, 18 Mar 2024 03:13:03 +0000
52.621991 -1.72649

At the end of the A5 sliproad / on the corner of the junction with the Sutton Road at Mile Oak, both illuminated ‘No Entry’ signs (and a streetlight) are off. These lights have been off for several weeks now. This could lead to drivers not familiar with the area driving the wrong way down the sliproad and onto the A5.

Short slip road, 8th March

Fri, 08 Mar 2024 19:59:51 +0000
52.62254 -1.727878

The A5 eastbound Mile Oak exit has got really short exit slip road. Too short for the speed limit. I’ve witnessed few accidents there and even I had to slam on my brakes to avoid slowing down traffic on a5. This slip road should be at least 3x longer than it is now. Please extend it before someone dies or get seriously injured

Left turn only markings missing, 4th March

Mon, 04 Mar 2024 14:28:17 +0000
52.626367 -1.704595

As per previous reports, these missing left-turn only markings continue to endanger motorists. I have experienced several incidences where I have had to take proactive action to avoid collision with drivers trying to proceed straight ahead while in the left-turn only lane.

Pothole, 1st February

Thu, 01 Feb 2024 19:14:41 +0000
52.624769 -1.70257

Huge pothole forming in the left hand lane of the slip road on the A5, if you were driving up this to head towards Wilnecote. I have hit this pot hole this evening at approx 17;38pm on 1-Feb-24 which has damaged my front drivers tyre causing this to burst. I am unable to take any images as the slip road is dangerous and I cannot leave the vehicle to take those images.

Road markings have completely disappeared and causing a risk to motorists, 12th January

Fri, 12 Jan 2024 14:01:34 +0000
52.626367 -1.704595

Good Afternoon, I can see this issue has been reported before however the situation has changed due to their being no actual road markings visible anymore. This is cashing chaos for road users and causing numerous vehicles to think this lane is for straight on when confusingly ,it is meant to be left only. The roundabouts in Tamworth are extremely poorly designed as it is ,with far too many directions allocated to each lane which causes a lot of risk to motorists. I have some good photos and video of this particular road marking if required ?? It is a really busy ,dangerous island for motorists and pedestrians and it is clear the road markings have been poorly and cheaply marked. When they were freshly done ,you could clearly see the road men had struggled to burn off the original keep straight marker and the left only sign was so poorly marked that there was still a straight on arrow visible. This has been like this now for around 6 months or maybe more which is completely unacceptable as it is a very simple fix to put a good solid left only marking. I don't exaggerate when I say this is extremely dangerous ,I have a video of a HGV cutting across a motorist as it thought it was a straight on ( understandably) Please help before someone is hurt or killed. Thankyou

Markings not clear, 1st December

Fri, 01 Dec 2023 14:14:15 +0000
52.626341 -1.704671

When approaching island the road marking arrow looks straight on but should be clearly marked to show LEFT ONLY! Have seen this as closed in your reporting yet it has not been dealt with. Have had 7 instances in the last two weeks of cars and lorries being in the left lane who wish to go straight on. Two instances resulted in Me getting blasted at when I was in the correct lane. Please get this resolved before a major incident occurs especially with the increase in road rage!!

Whole car bumper in communal bin., 25th November

Sat, 25 Nov 2023 10:54:20 +0000
52.614236 -1.701237

I live in an apartment and we have 4 general waste communal bins which are emptied every 2 weeks but this morning I saw that someone had dumped an entire car bumper complete with number into one of the bins which completely fills the bin. I don't know if the fly tipper is a resident or just a passing member of the public but these bins are for general household waste only.

Left turn only arrow, 24th July

Mon, 24 Jul 2023 21:04:11 +0100
52.626371 -1.70472

Left turn arrow has been incorrectly marked when last changed from layout, as not clear at all. Old arrow not correctly removed and causes confusion when wet. New arrow faded and being ignored. Drivers apparently unable to tell which is the old covered arrow and which is the correct new left turn arrow. ‘Left turn only’ text required to stop ignorance by drivers. Staffs Police have confirmed this in recent report.

Illegal parking, 11th July

Tue, 11 Jul 2023 20:22:45 +0100
52.617467 -1.733889

Ref photos, the two cars in the photos are not residents. George Avenue opens onto the A453 which is a busy fast moving road and a main route from Tamworth to Birmingham. Many times whilst straddling the white line to turn onto the A453 vehicles turn into George Avenue quite quickly and there are daily close calls Double yellows protecting the junction would not impinge on residents with a time restriction of 6am to 18.00 pm. This problem is getting worse as this junction is being used as a car park for users of the 110 bus service.
