Fallen metal fencing abandoned along public footpath, 12th May
There is an alleyway from Rowdale Road that leads to a footpath that passes behind a few garages along to the canal bridge. Most of the properties on either side of the footpath have had tall metal sheets installed, presumably to deter burglars. A few months ago, the metal sheets at the rear of 117 Rowdale Road blew down in high winds. The problem is, that property has been empty for months, and residents don’t know how they can contact the owner for them to take action. People have tried to stand the fence panels back up, but inevitably they fall back over when it’s windy. The situation is too dangerous to continue to ignore. Perhaps the best solution is for the council to collect and remove the fence panels (as they are a hazard) and to find out who is responsible for the residence?

Dangerous fence along public footpath, 12th May
There is a public footpath that runs between Perry Park Crescent, along the edge of the park, to the canal bridge. Houses backing onto the footpath have double-layered fences, presumably for security. The issue is that over time a huge amount of ivy has grown between these fences, and in the past few days it has pushed the fences apart to the extent that the footpath is becoming impassable and the fence looks about to collapse. The inner fences are surely private responsibility. The outer fences might be - or it’s possible they may have been installed by an agency. Either way, it’s extremely difficult to determine which houses the dangerous fence panels belong to because of the curve of the road (it’s not obvious how the panels orientate to align with houses, without somehow clambering up and causing more damage). A polite request from the council to residents along that stretch of Perry Park Crescent, to ask them to please ensure vegetation is controlled, and to fix the dangerous fencing urgently, would be extremely helpful. Or if anyone is able to inspect the site, they may determine immediate intervention is necessary due to safety.
