Large and frequently covered by water., 22nd January
The road frequently floods, the water runs from an overflowing culvert close to the junction of the B6265. At the lowest point the road has multiple patch repairs which blow every year.
While the water covers the potholes, even at slow speed many drives can’t avoid, consequently together with freezing they have become much larger with broken boulders of ashphelt repair presently viable across the road. When the water drains I expect the holes to be double depth and width since my report in October, as they are no longer possible to avoid.
My main concern with the patch repairs here, it’s not sufficient and proved so over a decade evident by the patchwork road. The main cause is the frequent flooding from the field culvert, and of course the road only ever being patched rather than an appropriate repair.

The start of the River Ouse runs from the far side of the road, under the road and into the field near The Bungalow as marked on the map. Pothole, 16th January
Pothole, about 15cm deep. This pothole keeps reappearing, it was last fixed in late in 2015. The only solution is a full fix, not simply filling the cavity or evidently it will return.
The danger to road users is high, when it rains the road is covered in water and the pothole is not visable.
