Huge pothole. Friends car damaged and a cyclist could easily be thrown off., 15th December
It's an already filled hole that has eroded with the zero temps we had a couple of weeks ago. It's now about a foot long and quite deep.

This section of New Road has been getting worse for years. It has not been attended to in the 18+ years I have lived in the village. Interestingly, similar problems in and around Rufforth have been fixed!

The Streetlamps at the junction of New Road, Hessay and the A59 are not working. The westernmost does not illuminate at all, the eastern one will periodically illuminate for a short while but is too dim to be of use. I am referring to the 2 tall lights situated within the traffic islands on the A59

A59 Near entrance of Shirbutt lane multiple potholes. 2x on towards York side of road. More 100m down the road. Exiting York, several between 20m-400m before Shirbutt lane turning. Cars forced close to centre of road from both dies and weaving to avoid.

Dirt accumulation, 21st July
Dirt from farm vehicles has accumulated in the road gutters along Shirbutt Lane and Main Street Hessay, it needs removing with a road sweeper so as weeds don’t establish and drains don’t become obstructed.

Pavement obstructed by overgrowing vegetation, 21st July
Vegetation is growing over the pavement surface, resulting in residents walking in or on the road, it is particularly problematic for residents with limited mobility. The area affected us between the entrances to Hessay Industrial Estate and Curlew Fields Farm.

Stop sign loose, junction of New Road & Main Street Hessay, 21st March
The stop sign bolts which secure the sign are loose, the sign is blown into a position by the wind and becomes no longer visible, I gave turned it around though the bolts need tightening to prevent further occurrences.
