Late last year I reported that the causeway outside my home No1 The Glade was in need of repair, and you sent workmen to patch it. Although the work wasn’t to my satisfaction I accepted it was the best I could hope for. At the moment a company called quick line are installing cables for Broadband. Which I don’t need I already subscribe to Sky. I assume from a letter I just received telling me work was imminent that they are due to dig up the repair work done by you. I am appalled that things like this are allowed to happen. Obviously you didn’t want to spend money repairing the causeway properly in the first place because you didn’t have it. But now do you really want a company like Quickline wasting taxpayers money damaging work already done for something people don’t really want.

Dangerous junction, many near misses, 19th August
This junction has always been tricky but is being made much worse at the moment by overgrown hedges and yellow diversion signs obscuring vision too.

No drop curbs, 25th April
They is a path to cross the a19 but I’m a wheelchair user and there is no drop curbs to cross the road so have to go past the church in Escrick to cross, am in Deighton so when I need to go to the shop have to go out my way to cross in Escrick.

Large lorries illegally travelling on Skipwith Road, 2nd October
There is a 7.5 ton wait limit on Skipwith Road. Large lorries are ignoring this illegally. Needs proper enforcement. Police camera van jobsworth simply said 'not my job'. Should be easy to catch, most of them are going to Hartleys frozen veg.

No care to appearance of village, 2nd October
Other villages like Riccall have welcoming floral displays - giving a sense of pride in their village. Escrick is always left out. The Council should invest in the appearance of the village, instead of spending thousands on unused childrens playgrounds.

The public footpath that runs from Main st round past the school and into the park is very deep in mud and rotting leaves and is very slippery underfoot. It appears not to have been cleared for a long time such that there is a build up.

Blocked drains, 3rd February
Thanks for sending the road sweeper but at the time he came many cars were parked to do the school drop off, thereby blocking the road from being swept. Additionally where he cleaned still left the drains blocked with mud and leaves. I think they need a flush/pressure clean please.

Permanent puddle causing danger as pedestrians step into road to get passed it., 3rd February
This puddle is a permanent problem on what is a narrow footpath next to a very fast road on a route to a primary school. The result is that children are stepping into the fast road to get round it and I have witnessed some frightening near misses with vehicular traffic.

Blocked gutters and drains and slippery footpaths., 17th January
Old soggy leaves on foot paths and gutters causing blocked drains and dangerous footpath, children having to jump into road to avoid puddles caused by blocked drains and leaves in gutters. Issue is thoroughout Escrick village. Problem for many weeks. Thankyou

Short length speed limit change, 24th March
According to the traffic legislation, a speed limit should change no more often than 600 yards to avoid driver confusion. This speed limit of 50mph is much shorter than this. The preceeding limit of 40mph at Deighton is not warranted as visibility at junctions of much greater than stopping distances at 60mph which has been acceptable for more than 30 years here.
