Historically, Feltham was mainly an agricultural village, though in the late 18th century mills and cottages were built along the Hounslow Road.

TW17 is served by two railway lines, Feltham and Bedfont, and is a hub for local commuters. It is near two major airports, Heathrow and Gatwick, which combined offer many connections across the globe.

The postcode area is home to a number of attractions, including the Feltham Cottage Museum which is located in a charming old building that was once the village store. It has artifacts relating to the history of the area, as well as art works that reflect its varied cultural heritage.

TW17 has many green spaces to explore, too. Bedfont Lakes Country Park offers breathtaking views over the lake and its surrounding areas, and Hanworth Park covers 177 acres suitable for picnics, barbecues and outdoor activities.

TW17 is a great location for families, offering a range of good schools such as Feltham Hill Primary School, Feltham Community College and St Mary's Catholic Primary School. There are also a number of churches and religious organisations in the area.

The area is a bustling shopping area with Feltham High Street, Friars Square Shopping Centre and many independent retailers. It also has plenty of restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes.

As well as having lots of facilities and amenities, the area also benefits from excellent road links, including easy access to the M4 and M25 motorways.
