Nunthorpe is the smallest of the three villages, and is known for its historic landscape, as well as its pleasant, peaceful atmosphere. It's also home to a few shops and pubs.

Coulby Newham is a popular residential area, with lots of family-friendly facilities, such as the Coulby Newham Leisure Centre, Coulby Newham park and a primary school, as well as numerous cafes and takeaways.

The area also plays host to Annual Marton and Nunthorpe Horticultural Shows, a centre for University of Teesside researchers and The Oakes at Marton which is a sports and leisure centre for all ages.

Teesside University is located on a modern campus near the centre of TS8, providing higher education opportunities. The Teesside University Technical College – which specialises in engineering, digital and technology subjects for 14- to 19-year-olds – is also based in TS8 postcode.

The area benefits from good transport links, with regular bus services running between the three villages and Middlesbrough town centre. The James Cook University Hospital is located nearby and is accessible by car or public transport.

The area's local shopping centres include Marton Shopping Centre with Asda, a small range of independent shops and eateries, Coulby Newham Retail Park and Nunthorpe Shopping Hub.

TS8 is a vibrant, friendly place to live and offers a good selection of activities and services, making it popular with families, students and young professionals alike.
