Blocked Drain
7th August
Two highway drains situated slightly lower than the main carriageway are currently blocked and require urgent attention. These drains are crucial for managing rain and surface water runoff in an area highly susceptible to flooding. Although they are located close to a private dwelling, they are not private drains and are the responsibility of the highways authority. Due to their location, they are often missed during routine maintenance. In poor weather, this leads to significant water buildup, posing an increased risk of flooding to our property and creating a hazardous situations.

Pavement being damaged and fracturing outside The Blake Hall
16th July
Pavement in 2 places has been damaged and the slabs fractured. There is a heavy dray lorry which regularly parks there to supply alcohol to South Petherton Social Club so that could be the culprit. It's definitely been caused by something large and heavy.

Although South Petherton now has public toilets they are difficult for visitors to find due to a complete lack of signs. Please could we at least have one in the car park? Thankyou

Lots of debris from flooding
27th January
Debris from the flood has collected against the railings over the brook and in various other places in the village. If this is not cleared up soon, another flood may ocurr and all this stuff will end up in the drains. I'm aftraid it is to big a job for me to do although I have collected quite a lot of rubbish already. Thankyou

Drains not working
27th January
There was a big flood around the drain by the vet's so I cleared the drain. It was full of stones. I then heard that someone had blocked it deliberately because water was coming up out of it. It seems to me that the whole drain system of the centre of SOuth Petherton needs investigating to see why water was coming up out of it. There is no drain cover on this drain. Thankyou, best wishes, Helen
