There are a few independent shops and cafes in the area, plus a few large supermarkets for convenience.

The area has good transport links, with access to the M5 motorway and a direct trains to Bristol, Exeter, London, Bournemouth, Birmingham and Brighton. Locally, there are regular bus services to Taunton and Bridgwater.

The TA12 postcode has seen great economic growth over the past decade or so, with new developments, refurbishments and investment in the area – particularly near the M5 junction. This has seen new places to live, businesses and tourist attractions popping up as the district grows in size.
