The area is a rural coastal community situated between the two towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot, in what is known as the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The postcode covers a large rural area as well as the towns and villages of St Florence, Glanbrydan, Maenclochog, Llanddewi Velfrey, Sageston, and Broadmoor.

The SA34 postcode district has an estimated population of over 6,500 people, with many of them living in numerous small, remote communities that are mostly focused around farming and small cottage industries. Tenby and Saundersfoot are the largest settlements in the postcode district, with the rest of the area consisting of a network of small hamlets and farms.

The area is known for its natural beauty with its scenic landscape, gorgeous coastlines, beaches and hidden coves. There are numerous nature reserves and wildlife areas in the immediate area, providing an ideal habitat for many species and species of birds.

SA34 is a popular destination for tourists with its many attractions ranging from picturesque heritage coastal towns to unspoilt beaches and working farms. Popular activities in the area include hiking, biking, kayaking, and camping. There are also two nearby golf courses, the Hillside course in Tenby and the Pennard course in Broadmoor.

The region's economy is largely driven by tourism which has historically been a major source of income for the area. However, recent years have seen an increase in the number of businesses opening in SA34 including pubs, cafes, restaurants, craft shops, and small-scale farm shops.

SA34 has excellent transport links with a railway line running between Tenby and Cardiff and access to the M4 motorway. There are also a number of local bus services connecting towns and villages throughout the postcode district.
