The economy of the area is largely based on traditional farming activities. Areas of the postcode district are involved in beef and dairy farming, and also in poultry production. Agriculture is also important for Pembrokeshire's economy, with the majority of the population involved in farming or related activities.

The region also offers potential for other industries, such as renewable energy resources, tourism, and various environmental initiatives. The national marine renewable energy centre, Wave hub, and two offshore wind farms are some of the renewable energy projects that have been initiated in the area.

The postcode includes a number of traditional sites of interest, including castles and monuments, such as the Iron Age hillfort of Garn Fawr and the prehistoric standing stones at Garn Goch. Several prehistoric earthworks, roadways and burial monuments are also scattered around the postcode district. The area of the postcode is often referred to as Teifi Valley, due to its location in the valley of the river Teifi, and also for its resemblance to the valleys of other Welsh river systems.

Finally, the postcode district is sometimes referred to as the Welsh Bible Belt, due to its strong connection to the historical Welsh Bible. Various religious sites, such as chapels, churches and holy wells, feature throughout the postcode area.
